So...... I spent the past two days on a boat with loads of Great White Sharks! Well, the sharks weren't on the boat, just we were. It was fantastic! What a thrill. We arrived in Hermanus, a most beautiful seaside town about and hour and a half outside of Cape Town. My instincts were right that I would absolutely love this place, I just knew it all along. It was so refreshing arriving in Hermanus after spending one cold night in Swellendam, the armpit of South Africa (from my experience anyways). Well, the past two days have been very exciting and exhausting. We finally left Plettenburg Bay and headed inland to this little town called Outsdhoorn. Don't ask me how to pronounce it, I have had many locals laugh at me when asking how to get there. This town is not very exciting but the backpackers hostel is amazing. It is called Paradise Backpackers and the name really says it all. I love watching Jordan doing his school work in the gardens with the owls hooting in the background. I know, I know...... so many animal pictures, but I cannot help it. These guys are so amazing and don't worry, I am almost past the animal portion of my trip! The little baby lions were incredible. They were so friendly and soft. They are white lions, which are still on the endangered species list. It was quite an experience being with the cheetah. It seemed like no problem before I went in but there in something instinctive that tells you that maybe you should not be in there with her. She was amazing though. Well, I am finally in Africa. The past week has been so amazing, and tiring, that I find it hard to find time to write. We flew into Johannesburg a week ago and have been on the move ever since. Today was amazing, we went out on the Indian Ocean and cruised beside a pack of about 20 dolphins - I can't even describe the feeling. Well, I am now on the plane to Johannesburg. Fourteen hours of travelling to go before I finally reach Africa. Germany was originally added to my itinerary as a layover, I didn't chose to go and I wasn't very excited about it until I found the Bavarian Alps a couple of weeks before I left. Even then I had trouble trouble convincing myself to be excited. Was I ever wrong....... Germany was a complete whirlwind. I loved every minute there. Holy smokes....... it feels like this day lasted a week. It was very eventful. We got off the plane in Frankfurt with no plans at all. We knew we wanted to get to the mountains but I didn't know what that looked like yet. Hadn't decided if we were going to take a train, a plane, a bus, a car (click our heels together) - I thought I would decide when we got here. Well, it is 7:00 in the morning and we are finally on the plane - 11 hours after leaving my house with only two hours sleep. Our very first flight of many on our trip around the world. Jordan and Calvin stayed up all night - those two are die hards when it comes to not sleeping, they always have been. I have yet to meet a child who surpassed Jordan's and Calvin's ability to stay up until sunrise. I still can't tell which one of them is worse - I always fall asleep.
