I think I was on the trail for 8 hours, the road was in good condition. Its just awesome. I had the best seafood chowder ever at a local café, followed by a platter of scallops and chips. This was part of my vacation from 4 to 20 AUG 2006 Sun 13 AUG 06 Whats a vacation for if not sleeping in, woke up at 9am and left the hotel at 10am. Great weather if not on the chilly side. I rode in my coat all day, but after crossing the Canadian border it got colder as the sun went down. Maine had some great views and I stopped a few times for a quick picture. This was part of my vacation from 4 to 20 AUG 2006 Friday 11AUG06 I left the hotel about 8:30 Friday morning. As I was leaving the other bike comes riding up, he had already been out to the laundry mat and done the laundry. The couple was from VA and just coming back from ME. The ride to the rally was uneventful and contained a stop at the RI line. I arrived at the MA/RI Hog rally about 1:30pm. This was part of my vacation from 4 to 20 AUG 2006 Wed 9 AUG 06 The banners were not out for the rally last night, so I will wait for registration to start and go over to get my picture. Checkout is at 11AM so I am using this time to catch up on this log and clean and dry out my gear. The hotel had free breakfast this morning, but I forgot to walk around the corner this morning to get it, they had BISCUITS and GRAVY! That’s my favorite breakfast. This is the fourth part of a series that is about the ride I took on my 2005 883 Low Harley Sportster ‘Effie’ from Kansas City to Novia Scotia and back. This was part of my vacation from 4 to 20 AUG. MONDAY 7AUG06 Yesterday left me 35 miles short of The Tail of the Dragon. The goal for monday and Tuesday is to ride the Tail of the Dragon a couple times, then head north to OH and IN to get those states for my ABCs. There are a few IBE cities and other states that I will get on the way. The next scheduled stop will be the TN state HOG rally. The Dragon is a very popular motorcycle destination.
