We eventually got into Varanasi and we picked our 1st recommendation from the bible that is the lonely planet. When we walked in, our first impression was this is a dive but after waking up about 8 flights of steep stairs with our backpacks, we just accepted it as we were shattered! We travelled to the border of Nepal Varanassi after a 7 hour train ride to Gorakhpur, a 3 hour local Indian bus to the Nepalese border at Sunnali, then hopped off and walked across. I am so geeky as I think this is just so cool, just strolling across a border! We sorted the visa's and then instantly felt like we had been transported to another universe in the space of 5 minutes!! Hello all! I know what your thinking, back on the blog already! well our train has been delayed as the company we booked it with took our money and then decided to put us on a later train in a lower class! How kind! oh well, apparantly we are getting a refund. Not sure in rupees or sweets as thery keep trying to do in shops when they give me change! Hi everyone! finally found a computer that works! I arrived in Delhi last Thursday and oh my god what an experience! We had a car pick us up from the airport as we'd booked a cheap hotel for the first 3 nights! Had the scariest car journey of my life! there are no rules it seems and everyone bibs there horn constantly and drive like maniacs! its like having 10 cars outside your house constantly bibing!
