Just quickly!!! We are now back from our trip.... been back a week already and still it feels rather strange!!! We finished our time away with a trek in Chiang Mai, followed by some time out in the city and a night in a rather posh hotel in Bangkok! Hello!!! We havent writen for a while as we have been really busy, so i shall attempt a quick update from the last few weeks! Our Mekong River trip was really good, we saw lots of little islands, got free fruit, tried snake and banana wine (why they call it wine i dont know, i could have fuelled my car with it) and even went to a crocodile farm!!! Hello!!! So we are over half way into the trip, though it feels we've been out here for months! Just a quick message whilst i abuse the free internet at our hotel! We travelled back from the beach at Nha Trang today where we stayed for 3 days, it was sooooo hot!!! but had a great time, and the food was amazing, even the street vendors were selling fresh crab and lobster!!! Another quick update as we abuse the free internet on offer at our hotel...... The Cu Chi tunnels day was pretty awesome, our tour guid Thong (pronounced Thon) or 'Slim Jim' as he is apparently known, was hilarious and had a passion for cockney rhyming slang which he tested out on us! We saw all the traps the Viet Cong used to protect their village - pretty brutal, and got to crawl through one of the tunnels. We also got to fire an AK47..... which Adam loved!! We are e-mailing from the country of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, formally known as Saigon! We flew in yesterday...!! after a quick stay on Ko Phangnan. We found ourselves staying at Highlife Bungalows on Ko Phangnan, after our planned guest house was full. However it turned out to be amazing! For 5 pounds a night we had our own bungalow, complete with hammock on the balcony overlooking the beach and sea from the cliff top! A really quick overview of the last week...! After Krabi we got a long tail boat to Railey which is on the coast, the day we arrived it was seriously hot and the beaches and sea looked awesome! the sun was however very short lived and for the next three days we had monsoon rains at about 3pm everyday! So we settled on amusing ourselves with thai massages and dodgy movies in our beach bungalow! Currently sat at our guest house in Krabi (very sweaty.....!) with our scooter parked outside! Just returned from Tiger Caves and temple. Its best reached by scooter much to Adams delight (understatement!) for 24 hours rental we paid 200 baht (around 3 pound!) and the full tank of petrol was 100 baht (just under 2 quid). After a days usage her fuel gauge has barely moved! To keep our day brief - we climbed to the top of a mountain in the midday sun.... to visit a temple with panoramic views!
