Hey Jordan, Everything is fine. The political trouble is over mostly. and that was in Suva anyway on Viti Levu. Octopus is awesome. Great pool, great food, great people, both staff and fellow guests. Make sure you book up though, as now the coup is over, tourists are returning in droves. Enjoy your trip. Mike

Hey You dont know me, but I am a fellow traveller. My name is Jordan and I am currently in Napier, New Zealand. At the end of my trip in about a month or so I will be staying at Octopus Resort. The Big Fish..
The big fish u got in the picture is a Potato Cod, really big and curious creatures, one was hanging around on the dive site in coral bay every time i was diving, kept following us!

You won't have to worry about cyclone's until you get to Exmouth and the one which is currently of the coast of Broome, although it looks like it is intesifying and will lash the Pilbra coast, that'll die down in a matter of days. Just thought i'd mention Australia is spelt like that, not Australlia!!! Good luck dude, sounds great!! Townsville is a dump, but you need to go there to get to magnetic island - definitely worth it!! PS Fraser island is the dogs danglies!!
