| 8th March 2006 Robyn & Nelson | What An Experience! - From: Ripping times We love reading all about your adventures. Life is so tame, by comparison, back here in the good old USA. We're still in the grip of winter & both recovering from minor illnesses - a cold in my case & arthritis in Nelson's. Thailand & Laos were great. Lots of culture, temple visiting, native markets, & hilltribe village visits. Thailand is developed & safe feeling; Laos is safe feeling too, but so much poorer. Everything has the look & feel of faded glory in desperate need of restoration. The people in both countries are delightful - smiley, welcoming, gentle & ever so polite. We could learn a thing or two from them. We look forward to hearing from you again. Keep well & enjoy your last few weeks of adventuring! |
| 1st March 2006 sandra | whales - From: Only the spark plugs! whales are great as well! we did a brilliant trip in USA and got really close to 2 whales (Mum + baby) off Cape Cod. Truly amazing sight when they both jumped out of the water together by the boat! |

| 22nd February 2006 sandra | - From: Ripping times Hi Helen Another beautiful set of photos - the one of the sea is fabulous. I can't believe you'll be back in a few weeks time! Weather here is absolutely horrible and I've got plenty of time to enjoy it unfortunately!! No good news on job front despite trying quite hard. I could be teaching - in a grotty school - but I am being very choosy because I know I wouldn't survive in a really tough one. Oh well - back to cleaning windows. At least the house is getting a good doing over & I've got time to learn to ballroom dance!!! |
| 15th February 2006 Sharon | Enjoying your blog - From: Dolphins, sandflies and other things Hi there - I came across your blog whilst doing some NZ research (husband and I just arrived in Christchurch) and have to say I am inspired by your trip so far. I'm really impressed by how much tramping and outdoor activities you have undertaken and it's motivated me no end! Enjoyed your photos too - you have some crackers. I esp like the one from the Blue Mountains where you look like you are in an episode of Star Trek - my fav show. Wishing you safe travels - from a fellow blogger! PS: Don't mention cuts n' bruises - I shudder to think about all the ones I've had since we started out last year! |
| 10th February 2006 Maria Waters | Your GP approves! - From: Trying to be quiet in Queenstown Just looked through all your pictures & am feeling very envious. You look more & more relaxed in each shot! Funny that your folks are from Bickley...I grew up in Petts Wood & went to the Convent in Bromley! Small world eh? Loving the cuddly & not so cuddly animal pics! Enjoy the rest of your trip & don't worry about your blood pressure! Maria x |
