| 30th June 2009 Shirley | Weekend sounds great! - From: Moganshan: a weekend escape from muggy Shanghai What a beautiful spot! Especially in such a densely populated country. And your description of the people is fascinating. Bravo to these pioneering folks willing to take on life in such a "different" country. Hope to see you during the few days you'll be back here in July. Ahmet arrives tonight, for all of July, then we're off to Turkey for August. Am enjoying my recuperation and my new hip. Dick got his new knee yesterday, is doing well. The test worked, in that I went to your "test" mail and then clicked "previous." Shirley |
| 29th June 2009 anonymous | - From: A weekend in Guilin+What appreciated about Shanghai Bravo pour tout cela ! | 16th June 2009 Lana Hamon | Children The Same The World Over - From: Wei Chun,....and the others Thank you, Hilary, for sharing your joy -and sadness- of working with the orphans in China during your stay. It is lovely to read your captions of "little friend." As a teacher who works with children, my students, however, on the other end of the spectrum in that they are among the most privileged, I know how delightful it is to connect with children of all ages. Their trust and love are true gifts for those of us who are the "privileged ones" to live among and share with the children of the world. Thank you again, Hilary, for sharing the experience. Lana |

| 4th February 2009 betty abugheida | Asia - From: News from Shanghai My youngest daughter had similiar comments about the horrific traffic, travel time and busyness of Jakarta where she spent two months with her sister in a gated community.
