Hello everyone It has been a while and i know blogs have gotten slack, it is just cause we are so busy doing stuff!! Anyway my last blog about New Zealand was a bit negative so this one will be all positive. Here are the highlights of our trip so far! La Paz Managed to hit this city on the day of a once a year festival. Cue streets packs with marching bands and dancing girls. Loads of drink and food and fun. Also looked around at the squares and visited some local Tiwanaku ruins (ancestors to the Incas). La Paz [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone Sorry but we've gone through New Zealand at such a pace that we've have had only time for this one and only blog where we will try to cram everything we've done into one blog. (Big Gasp!) Auckland to Rotarua Right, so we arrived in Auckland which is Rubbish and promptly left on the tour bus Magic. Unfortunately on our first morning our alarm failed to go off due to us forgetting to adjust it to New Zealand time. Luckily Cathy realised with 15 minutes to spare and we ran to the bus and just caught it. We then [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone We're currently in Airlie which is a coastal town and the gateway for trips around the Whitsunday islands. Tomorrow we're off on a three day trip sailing around the islands and shoudl be really good. Since Noosa we travelled up to a place called Hervey bay (or Scurvey bay) as some call it due to it not being a very good place. It was however the gateway to trips around Fraser island and we enjoyed a 2 day guided trip. Was amazing, Fraser Island is basically the largest sand island in Australia with a length of 123 kilometres. It [View Full Entry]

Noosa

Hey everyone We're currently in Noosa, a nice little town by the sea and a bit more yuppy than Byron Bay. Due to how our bus times etc are fitted together we've had to spend the last 4 days here and are leaving on sunday. We've done a number of activities from surfing to kayaking so is all good. There was also some excitement when we went bodyboarding and chose this stretch of the beach where the waves were huge. Was really good fun but what we didn't realise was that the water was really shallow and there was also a [View Full Entry]

Back in Bangkok

 Asia » Thailand » Central » Bangkok
Hello All So we've arrived back in Bangkok and it feels a little like going home. Quite nice to have all the home comforts back but still miss those sandy beaches. Now out of sensitivity i have sent this early saturday morning in England so all you workers reading this won't feel too depressed. Since last blog we did Scuba Diving in Ko Tao (just an introductory one off) but was quite cool. Went down to a depth of 12 metres and saw lots o fish, also had a nose bleed as i didn't equalize properly but all was well as [View Full Entry]

Sunburn

Asia » Thailand » South » Ko Tao
Yes, its finally happened, yesterday we both got nice and sunburnt. So far we'd been really good at wearing all our cream & tanning gently ( although Guy still needs persuading about the suncream). Yesterday we went on a boat for about an hour ( wearing suncream) & by the end of it my arm was looking very very red. So surprisingly today im wearing long baggy trousers & a big t-shirt ( no more burning for me). Right so since we last blogged you, weve went north in Kao Phagnan to an area called Thong Nai Pan. We thought this [View Full Entry]

Becoming Lazy

Asia » Thailand » South » Ko Pha Ngan
Hello All Our trips have taken a decidely lazy turn as we find ourselves spending most our time now relaxing on the beach in the day and drinking on the beach in the night. We spent a couple of days on Ko Samui in the quiet bay of Maenam and visited the Full Moon Party whcih was a bit messy. Great fun and met these three irish lads who were really good laugh. Then after a few days chilling on Ko Samui we came over to Ko Pha Ngan and have spent a few days in Hat Rin. Now most people [View Full Entry]

Hello All Sorry for the break in communication but we're still alive and well. A lot has happened since our last blog, we caught the bus to Mae Sot which took 9 hrs. Nearly got off at an immigration check point but luckily a nice thai guard who spoke english pointed this out. Eventually arrived in Mae Sot at about 5 am and got a taxi to our guest house. Spent the rest of the day chilling and the next day we headed off for our four day trek to Umphang in the south. Now don't want to bore you all [View Full Entry]

Hello All So we arrived and now we have pictures. Let me begin at the start. We arrived at the D and D inn which as i said before it was absolutely beautiful with a rooftop swimming pool and set just off Khao San Road. So the first day we awoke we thought lets go see some temples. Now if you look at the picture below of a sign it gave us a warning, unfortunately we saw this sign too late. On leaving the hotel we were whisked into Tuk Tuk for only 20 baht to see all the temples. First [View Full Entry]
