I had a great couple of days in Cusco visiting friends and just hanging out. Got another Tattoo to remember where my heart really belongs, in peru. I got the 6pm bus from Cusco to Lima on the 28th. I was so looking forward to my last bus journey in South America going off with out a hitch. That was too much to ask. At (pm the bus came to a stop beside the road a few vehilces passed then returned. Nobody knew what was going on. I was so tired and not really able to remain consciouse for to long. I understood enough of what the bus guy said, the road was blocked and it would be about 12 hours before we would be able to go anywhere. It was a long cold night curled ... read more

Well I had one good bus ride. just when I thought it was over. this is one of the best bus stories I have to tell. I got to La Paz at 7 am found a bus that left for Cusco at 8 am sweet no delay, I would be In cusco by 8 pm to see my friends. I had t email them to say I would be in at 9pm, bad move. but I was excited to see them after 3 months away and many adventures to tell about. It was advertised as a direct bus to cusco. Direct here means 3 bus companieas, a boat 3 cities and alot of standing around. the first bus went from Lapaz to Coppacabannna. It was the smoothest part of the trip, we had to get off ... read more

Hola all Well I finally made it to Bolivia for a brief visit on my way back to Lima. I left Salta Argentina on the night bus to the Bolivia Border with a friend I met In Argentina. we got to the border town at 4 am and the border was some where not even close to the border. I managed to get dirrections from a local on how to get there. the selection of locals at this time was limited, spanish sounds even harder to understand when thee are no teeth involved. We made it to customs just before they opened and met another guy there waiting to cross. after the customs there you have to walk across a bridge into Bolivia. their Border opens at 6 am but there is an hour time difference ... read more

I have been have huge problems with bus tickets and hostel resevations lately, drivin me nut. It starts in Puerto Natelas where I book a bus ticket 3 days in advance and didn't have a seat when I got there and the next bus didn't leave for another day which would have been 4 more days then I wanted to be there. Finally the bus driver said there was one seat at the back of the bus available. He pulled a cushion out of a bin and set it beside the tiollet for me to sit on. There was an empty seat further ... read more

the internet here is not to good so I appaulogize for the lack of bloggs. I spent a few more days in Ushuaia thewn planned. that is a hard place to get out of very limited buses this time of year. Loved the town and the people. i hooked up with a group of other travels and we rented a car for 3 days and went off to explore what the city known as the southern most city in the world had to offer. we went to the harburton ranch and took the boat over to see the penguins. great photos opp. then stopped at the flag trees on the way back to Ushuaia. The hostel we stayed at had a great kitchen and I ended up being the groups chef. we had a lot f ... read more

Not really but I came very close at the argentina boarder. The last time I was here was to Jion a Cruise ship as a photographer. I got an entery stamp but no exit stamp in my passport. OOPS. Big problem!!! I had alot of explaining to do in very broken spanish But I got through the ordeal a free man. I hope there are no more problems when I leave this time. I showed the officer all the other stampes dated after Argentina to show I had not been in the country for the last two years over staying a 3 month tourist visa. This all took place between the two visits to the Iguazu falls. I wanted to see both the Brazillian side and the Argentina side. I am glad I saw the Brazillian ... read more

I woke up this morning and my German buddy was leaving to go home so I decided to see about booking myself on the Favela tour. The favela is a slum a very poor area. You have not already seen the movie "City of God " you have to watch it. that Is what I went to see. I was really unsure about the idea of being there but I was glad I did it. The tour started at the bottom of the Rochina Favela in Rio there was seven of us. we got onto motorcycle taxis and road to the top´. Ok no helmuts and these guys drive like madness. I have necer been so freaked out before. they would pass on the inside on the outside in the middle. the road was full of ... read more

Sorry for the last story being cut short, as you know someone stole my imodium so that was working against me that morning. I have also had an internet gremlin following me around. Last night half way through this very story the poewr died and all was lost. I am moviing south through Brasil so things are getting better an da bit more modern. I will start with the jungle journey. It was definately a trip to do, very much a character builder. I left from Iquitos Peru by boat to Leiticia Columbia. the boat was so packed with people you could not even get out of your hammock at night and they served the food right to you in your hamock. I met a Swiss couple on board and they convinced me to join them ... read more

Ok all I am not dead oer missing I am just in Brazil where nothing seems to work very well and nobody really cares. So far I am not over all impressed with this country so I will move on to Argentina soon. I will start with the best story of the trip first Things to concider when you go Piranha fishing 1 don´t go with a spaz 2 don´t park your boat directly under a tree 3 piranhas on average are 3to 4 inches long and weigh a couple of ounces 4 they bite like hell The first guy in our boat to get a bite got so excited and thought he was in for a huge struggle to get this tiny many toothed beast into the boat. he pulled the fishing rod out of ... read more
