Went for a weekend away to Brighton with Mary, nice town, good weather, great food, excellent company :) Definitely check out the Pavilion if you're there, very intense colours and architecture built for a crazy prince. (Bit pricey) Lovely pubs and restaurants too! PS I also won a cuddly toy on the racing dolphins. High five, alright!... read more

Wednesday night 00:25. Ring Ring. SURPRISE! We're going to France on Friday, can you come? Its Free! Heck yes I will! Friday morning after much fussing and hunting for lost and forgetten passports we jumped into a strangers jeep for the long drive and ferry ride to France. We're greeted by a huge converted french cottage (mansion?), loads of red wine, great food, good company and good times. Northern France is beautiful as you can see from the photos, the small villages and towns are so picturesque. just a really nice place to chill out. That said once you add desert wine, port, slow gin, tequilla and cigars in the mix i still felt worse for wear upon our return! Huge thanks to Sarah for the invite and Stuart and his friends for their generousity and ... read more

As agreed! We enjoyed a cider fuelled train ride up playing cards then wandered tour hostel via swamp games and bollard jumping before bedtime chocolate nightmares. Saturday started with a sleep in and a very lazy brunch at Ha!Ha!Ts port waterfront cafe. Followed up with a quick wander through town before heading out to Warrington for the special All Golds Centenary Rugby League match. This match is basically a kiwi team with one token aussie (Steve Price) played with the old points system used 100 years ago. We met Phil, grabbed some low brow supermarket hot chicken and bread rolls to eat with Solomona and Kidman before grabbing the BIG ONES (double pints) to watch the game. Good game, the AG's should have had it nailed but let in 3 weak successive tries early in the ... read more

I just about didnt go to this weekend and rushed out the door with Jamie and Craig to arrive to freezing cold and wet Munich conditions. Our first night we didnt let our spirits get dampened and partied hardy at our expensive and out of town campsite, just to keep warm! I had forgotten my sleeping bag but managed to beg and borrow a thin summer one off another friendly festival goer, which combined with all the clothes I brought and a large serving of alcohol provided an adequate nights sleep. Our first day was most spent lieing in the cold and wet tent wishing I had stayed at home, but after dragging ourselves into town and wandering aimlessly around Ostbahnhof as agreed for a few hours we had a nice meal and caught a movie ... read more

The F1 development tour was amazing at the time. Like stepping into the future, very slick... But I'm still very bitter about the thrown opportunity to win the championship this season so I'm not going to write much. Just posting a few nice photos I managed to sneak inside. Many thanks again to Beth, and her family for the rare opportunity to take this tour!... read more

With a day in Malaga. Partied too hard first night and paid for it the next few days. Perfect hot sunny weather in Spain, as agreed. Perfect wind in Tarifa, as agreed. One good buddy as amped as I was to be learning kite surfing; Pistol Pete. One awesome very relaxed kite instructor and his wicked dog. One very chilled out hostel and a bunch of very cool people. The recipe for an excellent week! Kite surfing is not easy, there are a lot of elements to deal with, flying the kite (which is an aero wing), wind fluctuations, the surf, other people crashing their kites (which you dont want to be near) But it is good fun and i will be doing it again at some stage to get good at it. The idea of ... read more

Toasted and Boxed Europe » United Kingdom » England » London By GreenGuy July 22nd 2007 Josh Helmink Toast - a gathering of kiwis to drink expensive kiwi wine and foods and listen to music. The weather was hit and miss, but the wine was good, the food was great and Black Seeds were playing! Followed up with an all drinking all singing all dancing after party at Helens. The day was also capped off with the kiwis beating the aussies to take the Tri-nations and Bledisloe cup, well done boys! Lovebox - a music festival in London, highlights were Trojan Sound System, Toots and the ... read more

On my bus ride to Novi Sad I met a lovely girl Jelana who told me all about living in Serbia, they dont make much money there, but the cost of living is low so actually they are generally quite well off. We met up with her boyfriend Nemanja for a beer and a chat, they really are a friendly people and very hospitible and enjoy having guests. We ended up going out for dinner then having more beers with two of his friends Deva and "Coma" before hitting up the Rakia shots (plum brandy - deadly!) Thanks guys! By this stage I was only 4 hours late to meet Heloise at the campsite but they took me in a taxi to the camp ground where somehow I was able to pitch the tent in ... read more

Flying old skooly I had a cheap flight with JAT airlines, I had manually printed tickets that I had to collect, the plane was old and rickety, but with tonnes of leg room and free food! As soon as I hopped off the plane it was like a heat wave, beautiful! Just what I needed to escape the most abysmal summer in London that anyone can remember. Headed straight to my hostel for a cool beer and a chat with some locals, I ended up going out that night with them for a few drinks and a swim at a man made lake. The girls here really know how to look after themselves and its true what they say about the eastern europeans, some absolute stunners to be seen! I only really had one day ... read more

We started our Formula One weekend with a delightful 5hr car ride to Silverstone, the journey should take 1.5hrs so we were only able to make it with the assistance of our good friend Strongbro and a few select power ballads. Upon arrival Jim and I selected a nice marsh in which to pitch our tents and got to work. Craig is afraid of sleeping outdoors and had a few things to sort out that weekend so would be driving up and down as required and as agreed. Once camp was set we got to pumping our airbeds, some of us had a bit of bad luck in the leak department and spent the good part of an hour getting up to pressure. Some of us then thought it would be a good idea to play ... read more
