Wow, I´m in Huancayo now, just got back from Concepcion and Ingenio. Tomorrow we are going to the glacier...about 18,000 feet. Sounds amazing, very excited. But thats really high.

Only when it's clear - From: The most beautiful lake in the world? Lake Atitlan (But not quite as nice as Loch Lomond!)
This lake is truely beautiful, however, it's hazy most days. There is a ton of garbage around the shores, but none the less if you catch a clear day, it could be breath taking

What a beautiful place! Shame though, not a word about scotch whisky? As they say you can't survive in Scotland without whisky?

did not know until - From: The Tropical Isle of Wight
Yes, until I read your travel blog: it does not seem part of Britain? Definitely a place worth going, but wonder if there's any airport there as I do not like and in fact maybe can't, travel by sea? Heard about there's a prison there, well I guess it is not the one that imprisoned the whos it again? charles 1? Great reading!

Toy train chugs - From: Steaming to Darjeeling by Toy Train
I would love to see you re-visit Darjeeling in the Toy Train and make a critical assessment now vis-a-vis your last visit. Darjeeling, I understand, is fast losing its charm due to some reckless construction. I've written about it; if you also chip in with some critical remarks, it'd help.

Sideways - From: Iranians, Jews and art deco cinemas in Westwood Village, L.A.
Being a southern California native, and having grown up visiting Westwood movie theaters, I find your perspective on the area interesting. I do take issue with your description of Sideways as boring--I don't think I have ever laughed as hard as I did during that movie. Happy travels.

bolivia questions - From: Into Bolivia, Uyuni, and the great wilderness of the Salt Lake
Hi, I am travelling to Bolivia this summer and trying to find out about accomodation and access to the salt lakes. There are 5 of us and we have no tour, transport or hotels/hostels booked. Did you wander around and find your way through or plan it ahead? What would you reccomend? What time of year did you go? The photos are magnificent and I given me much to look forward to. Thank you!

Some memories leaves golden impression. - From: Cold in Darjeeling!
Years back I had everything including family,friends,college….love…life. Now look at me I’m a professional now and I have come so afar from Darjeeling. I have nothing left of that place with me except for the little tea bud in my diary which reminds me of Darjeeling and few memories. I love that smell of the forest when you walk across the Tenzing Norgay rock. I love the feeling when the snow crackles beneath your feet. I just wanna say that nobody out here is friendly. Nobody gives me Momos, aaloo bhuja,Thukpa and that classical cup of tea.I know someday that I will be back. The tea out here sucks. Until then adios Darjeeling and Kudos to your beauty and your mountains. And mind it the photo which you see Assembly of God church School is my School and I love my school. I was a school captain out there. And thanks to people in coordination of this website. Appreciate your work with deepest gratification…Neo.

Lebong racecourse - From: Cold in Darjeeling!
Thank you for the picture of Lebong racecourse. My mother was born in Lebong in 1906, 100 years ago next May. I have always wanted to go there, and plan a trip, hopefully this December, with my son. I have barely been able to find Lebong on maps before, and this is the first photo (apart from one of my mother as a babe in arms 100 years ago on the front verandah of their house) that I have seen of Lebong. Thank you.

Hi - From: Demise of the mice
I was trying to find the Bushfire website (I finally did) but I ran across your blog in the process. My bestfriend Megan is there right now as well and it is nice to see pictures of everything there & in town that I keep hearing about. Except the spiders & mice of course. If you are still there, give her a hug for me and take care and keep doing all the wonderfull work you guys are doing there.

Thank you so much - From: Steaming to Darjeeling by Toy Train
Although I'm sure it's different now, your photos gave me a much needed idea of what Darjeeling looked like. My great grandfather died there in 1899 and without your pictures, it would just be another name on a map or in a book. I may never find his gravesite, but your pictures let me know how it looks. Thanks so very much!!
