After the success of a year travelling around Australia in 2004/2005, I made a big decision a couple of months ago to go on a big trip around the world. After several drafts of routes I could take, lists of places I would love to visit and lots of weighing up of options, as there is limited funds and only four months, I opted for a beaten track backpacker approach. The chosen route will start in Hong Kong tomorrow, the 5th of January, before heading to Hanoi in Vietnam. From there I plan to head south along the Vietnamese coast to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), then across the border to Cambodia before going to Thailand.
