missing India  Asia » India
Hi Guys, Thanks for all the emails, and for taking the time to read my entries, sorry to say I am no longer in India at the moment(MOST OF YOU WILL KNOW THIS), but hopefully one day will return to finish my journey there. It was without doubt one of the most enjoable times of my life and I just can't wait to get back there. Am back home in Ireland now, having sold the flat in London. Things are going well here and my main aim at the moment is to get driving, I need to get myself sorted out [View Full Entry]

McLeod Ganj Asia » India » Himachal Pradesh » Mcleod Ganj
Shanti Shanti Well its my second last stop on the trip, I am here in McLeod Ganj home to the Dalai Lama. The journey here all 16 hours of it was a nightmare, yet another local bus and yes I was the only traveller on the bus of Indian's. In general they were very nice but it does get a bit tiring being asked name and country by all and sundry. The road was terrifying, my rucksack was tied onto the roof and I was sure I was going to lose the lot, the road itself was trecherous so steep as [View Full Entry]

Hi Guys, Seems a while since I wrote anything and now finding it difficult to start. Incredible Indai where to start??? Left Jaipur as soon as possible for Puskar, it wasn't that far by bus and luckily the bus was relatively empty, just three other back packers which was great. Puskar is beautiful a city in the mountains, however it was so hot - 43 degrees, it has a holy lake in the centre so there are ghats all around the lake and it was so nice to hang out around there. Ghandi's ashes were scattered there and the only temple [View Full Entry]

The Pink City - Jaipur Asia » India » Rajasthan » Jaipur
yes here I am in the pink city, so called because most of the stone work is pinkish! Would not like to live here although I would like to take all of the gem stones home with me. Been out to the City Palace in the old city this morning, started out on foot but it was so dangerous crossing roads and even just walking on the side of the street so I eventually got a rick shaw guy to take me around the city for 30 rupees an hour, of course he took me to a jewellers, they had some [View Full Entry]

Left Kudle beach (Karnataka) yesterday after 19 days of sheer bliss, it was beautiful there but was getting too hot. We had a few mad parties there more details when I get back. We (Michelle an english girl) left early by tuctuc to the railway station, the road from the guest house was so rocky it was like being in a tincan loose in the back of a car boot. I swear I am bruised all over from it. our train was delayed by 1hour 15 mins, it was so hot hanging around the station with nothing to do. We were [View Full Entry]

Have started doing a spot of Yoga on the balcony at midday, with my neighbour Merlin, his mum is a yoga teacher he's very good! Looking forward to it [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone, Thank you all for the little notes, really nice to have a few messages when I do get myself on line, and lovely to hear from you all! Well where do I begin, have left Goa - by train, it cost 23 rupees for my 2 1/2 hour journey, 600 rupees for the taxi to the train and 300 for the rickshaw at the otherside, trains are so cheap, mind you it was an ordinary train ie: 3rd class, but fine.... I and am now in Gokarna, it is an absolutely beautiful place, we are on the coast line [View Full Entry]

just settling in Asia » India » Goa » Vagator
Wow I am almost here 2 weeks, feel like some sort of native, really strange! Well in all honesty I love it more and more each day I cannot believe this is my first time here. Weather has become all blue skies again, rain storms, lightning thunder has vanished, the rain was shocking, streets flooding in a matter of minutes. Been eating like a horse, so many deicious things to choice from, last night vietnamise, momo's they were devine. Have been lucky enough with mosies so far and other crawly things, besides the massive rat the other day I have been [View Full Entry]

Arrived on Wednesday evening, it really seems like ages ago already. Changing flights and everything was relatively easily, mumbai was so strange looking when it came into view from the plane, the airport is mad, a shuttle bus takes you round the perimeter which is surrounded by santi towns, to change for international flights. Anyway got a crazy taxi from airport to Chapora, it took almost an hour, it was a bit of a mad ride, glad I read a few blogs and was forewarned about the driving conditions which are totally crazy, however saying that I have been travelling to [View Full Entry]
