It's pretty sweet that BA is close to Uruguay because taking day trips there is definitely doable. Jay's friend Michael was visiting for the week so we decided to go on a day trip and take a boat over to Colonia, Uruguay, a little village/city established in 1680 on the river coast. You can take a faster 1 hour or slower 3 hour boat ride over. We opted for not only the faster boat but first class--wow the seats were plush. Ok it's really not at all much more expensive and they were the only seats left for last minute ticket [View Full Entry]

Parquet galore!!
So I moved into a new apartment down the block from my old one and it's a realllyyy great space! The kitchen is huge and so is the living room. We have gorgeous parquet floors (which are everywhere in this city) and big windows. Jay and I have been cooking quite a bit and we're getting damn good at it. Actually Jay is really getting great at it. Glad I'm the recipient of such delectable delights. So as we all know my fave holiday Halloween just passed, and as I'm quite upset I was not able to be Austin Powers in [View Full Entry]

My first sketch here
Sorry it's been a little while--birthday hiatus! Took my first drawing class and it was quite interesting. Here I felt a language barrier while trying to get critiqued but not quite understanding as much as I should have by the fluent Spanish speaking instructor. All in all, I had a great time sketching a model for a few hours. You totally go into your own creative world while also feeding off of the other artists' energy in the room. Ooh, and I also went to my roomie Paula's makeup class (from cinema school) where she dolled me up to look like [View Full Entry]

Las Banderas Monument, Rosario

One of the biggest sights to see here in BA is Recoleta Cemetery. I'm dead serious....Sorry, I had to. Seriously though, it's a huge cemetery solely made up of mausoleums. Sounds creepy, but it's actually really cool. You walk through rows and rows of mausoleums, all made as ostentatious as possible. It's definitely a cool class trip. Parents would probably need to sign the permission slip. But if you look at any website or travel book about BA, the cemetery is probably the #1 top spot to see. It's beautiful and resides in the shnazziest neighborhood of the city, Recoleta. Oh [View Full Entry]

It's been a little over a week since our arrival to BsAs, and it's fantastic over here! Jay and I live in a bohemian area of the city called San Telmo. There are art galleries and antique stores all over. It's one of the oldest parts of the city so there is an old flair to this part, which I totally dig. Although I must say, there is a good chance your sneaker might end up kissing a pile of doggy doo doo. I personally find it endearing...My shoes are shit free so far. Leaving my parents at the airport was [View Full Entry]
