Human Hologram-Science World
You could reach out and touch your hologram it was pretty cool, made for an interesting photo...
Well its 2007, January the 1st where I stand right now, for you back in NZ you are on day 2 of what is to be another unpredictable year, as they always are. We don’t know what this year will bring, but the beauty is that if we have a fair idea and set our sights on the dreams we bring to the forefronts of our minds then we may just be pleasantly surprised with where we end up. May your dreams come true this year. Where will I be I ponder today, where am I going...there is a rough plan [View Full Entry]

Storming
Vancouver is getting hit hard at the moment. This latest knocked over 1,000 trees in Stanley Park. Power outages, snow, winds over 120km/h. I slept right through it!
Indeed, its true, sometimes the best trips and times of your life are those that are totally completely utterly planned on a split second decision at a precise moment in the afternoon of a particular Saturday while enjoying a beer and feed in a cosy Canadian pub. It just so happened that this particular spontaneous seed was planted the Saturday before last, at a typical Canadian franchise Earls that does things very well indeed and it grew within 5 minutes and turned into something that may in fact go down as the biggest weekend I will ever see in Vancouver, lets [View Full Entry]

Extreme Kayaking Anyone?
Extreme Kayaking Anyone?
One guy actually thought he would survive in a kayak. He was proven wrong.
Indeed, Toronto, Canadas largest city, the big smoke of the north, affectionately known as T. (T Dot) or simply TO, was kind enough to let me call it home for the past nine days. Arriving last Monday from Oshawa, it was a 30 minute bus/train trip and a farewell to a huge heart back in Oshawa, Big D, you know who you are. Night one was spent in the HI (Hostelling International) Backpackers on Church Street (near King St subway), as per usual HI impress with a great backpackers that comes with a price (I did manage to get a sharp [View Full Entry]

Well, close enough....
Found this on route from Ottawa to Peterborough with Kori who picked me up hitching, took 5 lifts this day to get 300 kilometres.
Ladies and Gentlespoons, It’s Friday evening and I type to you all from a lounge in a small apartment in downtown Oshawa pop. 180,000, 45 minutes outside Canada’s largest smoke, Toronto. Devon, who is a 30 something year old father of four and a Bob Marley loving security guard, gave me a lift today after holding my thumb up for over an hour, the longest I have had to do so far since I started my hitch trip 5 days ago, yes, I picked a shit spot. Location, location, location. It gets you places. It’s been a busy week, lots of [View Full Entry]

Goodbye my Lover
Penquins at the Bio Dome

The following is for a laugh, I have been staying on my mates couch for the past four days, Ben, a Londoner studying on exchange at Concordia University. Top notch charactor, studying English Literature back home, politics here. Last night we stayed up late, Ben, Ashley (Bens girl from Toronto), and I, to put together a three scene script for Bens assignment. Its just so totally random that it has to be shared also so that I have a copy of it, its currently unedited so excuse that but enjoy the laugh. Shane Ben Aitken 6141684 Scriptwriting Exercise 1. Common Street scene
Funny, this photo looks beautiful in black & white, its just a random street. It taught me to stop and smell Montreals flowers. Read the following book- The Alchemist, its a great read by the by
Salut, bonjour, from the South Shore, Today as I was riding a bike over the Jacque Cartier bridge (connects the South Shore with the island of Montreal, yes Montreal is actually a river delta) it started to sink in that yes I am actually in North America, a highway sign pointing to Quebec city/U.S.A kind of reinforced this. Its a little surreal actually, I think as I have been moving around since June landing in another city is just landing in another city, you need to remind yourself to stop and smell the scenery, the little differences, the crazyness of riding [View Full Entry]

Im alive, This I am sure of. My eyes are tired, its 2am on Wednesday morning and Im sitting on the free internet at a cute little auberge (inn) that is costing $19 canadian a night in the heart of Old Montreal, an area that was developed by the French a few hundred years ago, our building is this old. Am I happy? Well, things could be worse. Settling in well really, need to find a place to live, a job, found friends which is the main thing, and I need to find a way of getting the girl Im totally [View Full Entry]

Bondi sun, cant beat it.
Considering that I am going to be living in -30 C soon it was decided unconsciously be myself to head to the Gold Coast for a week, actually in search of an old business associate that owes me money, who happens to be enjoying the sun over here as well. Met with him today actually, originally I had extreme plans to spread his name around town in a negative way but after talking to him I realise that he is still the person I origianlly left my job for, and he has not exactly skipped country with everybodies money...he is selling [View Full Entry]
