Hey Dudes, I have since returned home to England from Fiji, but not before stopping in the US of A and it's large state (well I suppose they are all relatively large to English counties) of California - sometimes shortened (is that a word?) to "CA" in prose...Anyhow, time was a factor from flying from Fiji to California. Crossing the International Date Line (as you do), I was forced into reliving 9 hours of the same day, not on the plane, but in America. My first task was to have my index fingers scanned, which I managed to make complicated by [View Full Entry]

Greetings friends, It appears that I repeated myself on the last two blogs that I wrote. (Be it I may have been the only person to notice I went on about Lake Taupo and the Tongario crossing twice, but still!) THIS was an uncharacteristic error and I aim to not repeat this this again. hehe - enough of that old pony... My travels continue into the Islands of Fiji, formerly of British Crown sovereignty and surely the furthest point from Britain within the old Empire? hmmm - Im not sure - did we have the Moon also? nah! ok Before I [View Full Entry]

Hey up there peeps! Kia Ora to be precise (Mäori for 'Hello') Flying into Auckland in New Zealand or Aotearoa (the Mäori name which may mean "Long white cloud" (ao = cloud, tea = white, roa = long)), I have spent 2 weeks on the Northern Island and 2 weeks on the Southern Island of NZ (these are sometimes referred to as the North and South Islands). I started with a tramp around a nearby island off Auckland and I visited the Auckland museum. On my walk to the entrance, I walked past someone whom I recognised, and it was no [View Full Entry]

Yaaa -how's it?, I be in New Zealand now and travelling around the two main islands (North and South) for another 20 days or so..... So just finishing my second month in Australia (well just the East coast of Australia) and I have been travelling via an organised "backpacker" tour bus called the Oz Experience. They organise little mini trips and activities between driving you from one place to another. On my first three days, there were four of us on the Oz Exp. mini bus and a surf school for this period. Fresh from surfing in South Africa, it was [View Full Entry]

Hi brews and how’s it? I’ve been on a short visit to Singapore following leaving South Africa and I was there for 5 days. The change in climate was a shock, as was not sleeping on my flight either, as I was playing around on the Singapore Airlines in-flight entertainment. They had, like, 80 movies to watch (on demand!) and comedy episodes such as Will and Grace, Friends, Little Britain and so on. Well naturally I was in awe. Arriving in Singapore at 10am though my brain was at 5am, I thought I would have a 4 hour kip before I [View Full Entry]

Hello Pilgrims! I have touched down down under, having passed through Singapore but more on that in another journal entry ...for now - I shall go into the 2nd half of my SA trip. I finished off a week and a half in South Africa experiencing some more cool places. First stop after Coffee Bay, was Cintsa- a gorgeous bay area (see 1st photo). This was a short visit as I headed for 2 nights in the place they call the Hogsback - said to have inspired many a great book story and in particular (well ok, the only one), JR [View Full Entry]

Greetings Peeps, I have commenced my travelling with a short stay in Johannesburg, which I found to be a little daunting for a traveller on ones own… and this because I met a guy from Manchester in my Dorm, soon after I arrived, and he told me how he had just been mugged on his way to the hostel (a road near the main train station)!! That hardly made me want to venture into the centre of the city. But cities are cities hey and girls will be girls or something like that! My first planned stop was at the Drakensberg [View Full Entry]
