Mar 15 4:30 didn’t come as early as expected this morning. We got all our loot together quickly and packed up our bus. Apparently people didn’t realize Disneyland was in Anaheim and not LA which is 2 hours away and we had to leave by 5:30 in order to catch my place. I love ruining everyone’s plans, (to be honest I feel bad). I’m really just hoping my flight is at 12:30 like I thought it was. Otherwise I might be sleeping a few nights in the LA airport. I’m nervouuuuuuuuuus but pretending to be calm and collected. Here’s me wishing [View Full Entry]

Mar 14 This morning it was so very hard to get up; that tile floor is doing a number on my back. Today we worked our asses off and were able to complete our glorious sidewalk. Go us! This was in between playing movie star as the kids wouldn’t stop asking for our autographs which I was more than willing to give. A few of my favourites were Matt signing “Matt is Hot” or my “Sometimes I like to sit and eat watermelons while pondering the meaning of the world surrounding us”. They’ll never know what we’re actually writing so why [View Full Entry]

Mar 13 The group actually got some work done today; there were still the usual slackers but we still clocked in a semi-complete day. Hoorah. I got in some soccer playing with the chicos which turned into more of a swarm of little Mexican kids chasing a ball. I got a goal! Oh the pride. I got made fun of for having blue bear along with me. Everyone thought I brought him along for the kids. When the toy collecting went down today and I wouldn’t let people take him I realized the Jig was up. Now people keep hiding him [View Full Entry]

Mar 12 Today was a day of no work. Convenient that yesterday we couldn’t work at all because of the rain and today we weren’t working because of “other plans”. Why are we here again? Anyways, off to La Bufadora and Ensenada for a day of shopping and sightseeing. Oh, and no drinking; after last night I had to be sure no students were coming back to the bus drunk under my watchful, “responsible” eye. Last years group went to both of these places and so I didn’t have a lot to tick off my list to-do list today. The plan [View Full Entry]

Mar 10 Well, the day started as I expected. The morning was pretty much a gong show; did I say something about 4 people working, the rest standing around? But I have to admit, once more tools arrived we were pretty hard at work. I was in charge of dumping heavy loads of dirt into a pile under the bleachers. It smelled, and I joked about how the assortment of smells was just me. Turns out, 4 hours later, that the kids like to go number 1 AND 2 back there. I think I still feel light headed. The group is [View Full Entry]

I had no internet in mexico whatsoever. AM I had an amazing sleep last night; the nerves have started to shake off a little, this whole going away thing is STARTING to sink in. Not there yet though. Dan felt too homosexual to sleep in a bed with me. I planned it to a tee, just enough sexual innuendo with him to feel uncomfortable but not enough to think I’m gay: a queen sized bed all to myself. I figured Is start of the vacation with some eggs benny, no better breakfast. Things kind of just coasted through the morning, gave [View Full Entry]
