Hello fellow travellers! I am writing my very first set of blogs about my very first trip to the Eastern Caribbean. I am a total and complete rookie in both the traveling and the blog world, but I am a very exciteable person and I just couldn't help myself. I wanted to share my pics and experiences with all of you, now that I finally have something interesting to talk about lol. I was born and raised in California and have rarely set foot out of the state, and had never ever left the country before in all my 36 years. Luckily, I had an opportunity to go on the Allure of the Seas for a 7 day cruise with my friend Funnyclown, who was working on the ship as a balloon artist. I have to say that this was the best vacation of my life and I can't wait to share more pics with you all in future blogs. Also, I must add that going places with a clown makes things alot more interesting. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and keep checking my blogs because I took a ton of photos on my cruise. I look forward to sharing my adventure with you and sharing your adventures as well.

Quintana Roo was definitely the most beautiful place we visited on our cruise. The beaches were prisitne and the towns were clean and the weather was fabulous. The ship docked in Cozumel but we hopped on a ferry soon after arriving at the island to go on our excursion to Tulum to see the Mayan Ruins. The ferry ride was about 45 minutes of naeseating waves to arrive in Playa Del Carmen. As soon as we arrived, I wanted to explore this beautiful place, hearing the calls of exotic birds and wildlife all around me. But we had no time to look around as we were quickly herded onto buses heading for Tulum. From what I saw of Playa Del Carmen I would definitely recommend visiting it and I wish I couldve spent more time there. ... read more

Funnyclown and I had a mission in Jamaica- to meet some real Jamaicans in the real part of Jamaica- outside the port. We were told before and since that our plan was crazy, but we didn't listen to all those people who told us that Jamaicans were going to rob and/or hold us hostage, kidnap us ect. It didn't happen folks. Although initially leaving port Falmouth was a culture shock for me, I wasn't afraid. It was a bit overwhelming being shouted at from all sides as we left the port and headed down the dirt road that had suddenly appeared before us. The area just beyond the port is jam packed with taxis charging upwards of 80 dollars to leave and return to the port. Merchants lined the road with their wares and one woman ... read more

Even though I had been told that The Allure of the Seas was the largest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, I was still astounded to see how huge it is. The Royal Promanade is basically like a ritzy mall, complete with a elavating bar that went up several stories. There is a Boardwalk area thats centered around kids, and that is where I spent alot of my time, taking photos of the Balloons that Funnyclown made during his work shifts on The Allure. I also had the pleasure of meeting his friend, Sandra, who is a very talented face painter. They had taken the opportunity to work together on the cruise, having worked together many times in the past in the san Francisco Bay area. They made a great team and they kids went crazy ... read more

Lovin' Haiti

Only a small portion of Haiti was open to us. We tried to walk down a roadway leading out of a shopping area but we were stopped by guards. The seven or so hours we had were more than enough time to explore the beach and wooded areas that were open to us and the many "shops" along the way. Most of the merchant areas were small huts side by side about 6 by 8 feet in size. One merchant called me into the shop and I realized that the hut was actually two shops ran by two different people. One on the left side of the hut and one on the right. The two merchants began a tug of war with my attention, both trying to persude me to buy from their "store." It was ... read more
