Good Morning Vietnam!!!! We finally made it. Epic journey, the longest we have ever travelled so far. We had a 12 hour bus journey from Laos across the border which went smoothly. We arrived in Vinh, Vietnam and had planned to stay the night there before heading up to Hanoi. We had met two English on the bus Ayshia and Jamie and we all decided that we would take a sleeper bus up to Hanoi so we arrived there in the morning. That was an experience - we were all together in our tiny beds side by side - we had [View Full Entry]

Laos Asia » Laos
Ok.....so after a massive STRESSFULL problem with our visas to Vietnam (the most expensive of all) we had to change our plans and book a new flight straight to Laos from KL. Not the way we had planned but heho sometimes it doesn't always work out how you wanted it to! We started off in Vientiene which is the Capital. After crazy KL it was a relief to get somewhere so chilled and relaxed. There are hardly any cars on the roads and you can actually cross the road safely! Always a bonus. Such a lovely city with temples in the [View Full Entry]

We were very sad to leave Australia, can't believe our time there has came to an end however landing in Kuala Lumpur for the start of another Asia adventure was exciting for us both. At first it was a massive culture shock again, we literally felt like we were the only two white people in the full city. The taxi journey from the airport was one to be remembered, at several points we thought our lives were coming to an end. We made the most of our three full days and were out exploring every minute although the intense heat nearly [View Full Entry]

Coral Bay Oceania
Coral Bay was lovely - very small, only one street and the beach but cute. The weather is still lovely here. Further down the coast the weather will be colder and with more chances of rain which we don't want so we spent as much time up here as possible. We have not had cold weahter for at least a year. We stayed her for three nights and it was so chilled out. We went to the beach to wathc the giant red snapper fish getting fed. Sunbathed and snorkeld. The snorkelling was not as good here as it had been [View Full Entry]

Kalbarri Oceania
Kalbarri was a qaint little town with a rugged coastline. There is no way we would get in the water here. We went walking here up round "Mushroom Rock" and saw whales again from here. We visited the Seahorse Sanctuary which was cute. We relaxed again - yes we are getting used to that but we deserve it. We worked hard in Broome to save and chill out for seven weeks before we head home! [View Full Entry]

Shark Bay is only 25k's from the famous Monkey Mia. We decided to stay there and drive to Monkey Mia to see the dolphins. They come in every morning to get fed there by tourists. From the beach we watched them playing around and they come so close to people swimming. The are not shy at all. On our first full day there we relaxed by the beach at the camp site and met a lovely couple Tammy and Mark who had a giant Irish Wolf Hound. We haven't really met any other young people on this trip so far so [View Full Entry]

Nan and Pop took us out fishing for the day which was very exciting for us as to date we still had not caught a fish although we had been out fishing a few times. We went along the coast at Exmouth and within 10mins Frankie had caught her first wee fish. Sadly he was too small to keep but all the same a very exciting moment for her!!!!! Lynn then caught a fish which was larger and a different type but too small to keep so back he went! Then our catch came, two fish on the one line and [View Full Entry]

Exmouth Oceania
Exmouth has to be our second favourite spot on the West Coast after Broome. We stayed at a caravan park right next to the lighthouse so we were able to see the whales most nights whilst the sun was setting. On our first day the weather was not great so we booked a glass bottom boat to take us to see some coral and fish. The cruise wasnt great - the side of the gulf which it took us to, the coral was all dead after a previous cyclone and there werent many fish so were all a bit bored until [View Full Entry]

Karratha Oceania
We headed to Karratha from Broome. Our friend Jade from Falkirk who we have both met since we came travelling works here so we were hoping to catch up with her for a few days. Jade was working so we caught up with her for a few hours and chilled out in the sunshine the rest. When you are driving in the outback in Australia you always see lots of massive dead cows at the side of the road which have been hit by road trains so we felt like we needed to take a picture to remind us of the [View Full Entry]

Broome Oceania » Australia » Western Australia » Broome
Well, what can we say about Broome. We just loved it. We both agree that this is our favourite place in Oz! The beaches are amazing and the weather is 30 degrees every day! We met some of the best people ever who ofcourse made our time there even more special. We had days out fishing, something we have never done before. Caught crabs - again something we have never done and had friends with boats who took us out on the "sea biscuit" (a giant rubber ring) which gets pulled behind the boat at speed. We lived with a lovely [View Full Entry]
