Has been a while since I last updated. Sat here thinking where have we been?! Briefly visited the Camargue-white horses, flat land and flamingos. Headed for the coast next. Friends from home were holidaying in the south at Calalivere-Sur-Mer. Amelia and Marshall were both excited to meet up with friends from school. The drive there was to be a long one but the route we ended on was unexpected. We took a wrong turn and Sean recalculated and took us on the road La Mole. All the way up a mountain and down the other side! Double switch back bends with no barriers and only wide enough for one vehicle at a time. The view was breathtaking IF you could open your eyes! The car brakes were screaming by the end and so was Brian! Spent a ... read more

If I was in love, this is the city i would visit!!! Avignon, just here four nights. It's amazing, so much to see. We are on an island in the middle of the Rhone. This is the second largest region for wine in the whole of France. The city is amazing, we walk out of the campsite towards the Rhone and jump on to the shuttle boat across the river into the city. Just about coping with the heat. The pool is a welcome relief. Read the campsite rules, silence from 10pm-oh yes!! First night is a bank holiday weekend and next door is the local community centre. At about 8.30pm a brassband starts up which is very exciting, lots of people gather around the fence to have a look. We cycle over to check ... read more

We had been watching the skydivers for a few days from the campsite, so decided to investigate. Rode our bikes over to the aerodrome. It was quite busy, lots of young dudes with jumpsuits and cool shades. We waited for the next plane to take off and settled on the small stadium seating area. We looked around and wondered where they would land. There seemed to be a large, blue airbed type thing over in the distance. Perhaps they landed there?! A guy with a walkie talkie seemed to be in contact with the plane. He heard us talking and as he was English he started up a conversation with the children. He said he would give us a two minute warning until landing time. We gazed up at the sky but still no sign of ... read more

Sorry it's taken so long for an update! On reflection the gite was very nice but just like being at home. Not really what I was looking for…. Onwards………….. Our next Wwoofing. We arrive at our next hosts, organic veg farmers. Again very rustic but what a great time. The children love riding on the back of the tractor. Marshall has taken to the chickens and now thinks we shouldn’t buy eggs from the supermarket, you can collect them yourself. Makes it quicker to the table and therefore to eat! We plant onions, pot on plant seeds and my highlight planting potatoes, on the back of a tractor in the rain. I was on a mission!. We all really enjoyed this stay, mainly because Brendon & Mandy are such lovely people. The French bingo night- one ... read more

Internet access at last!!! I can’t believe its nearly two weeks already. The time is going so fast and we are already at our 5th stay!! What has happened so far……… First campsite was ok, the area was pretty. Both children then went down with a tummy bug! After a few days I got itchy feet and woke one morning wanting to move on. We took a family vote and on the basis of the next campsite having toilet seats and paper, we decided to move on. Du Haras campsite just outside Vannes was in fact much nicer. Next to an aerodrome it was quite pleasant to sit and watch the small airplane fly above and then watch the parachutists jump out and float down. We then moved on to our first Wwoof experience not knowing ... read more

Well my friends, the time has come to pack the caravan and have some fun. Play on. After much talk we are nearly at the off. Our yellow brick road is awaiting. Who knows what adventures and people we will meet on the way. Lets just hope we don't have any houses landing on us! Beware of the one in the stripy tights with a flying monkey as a pet Many have said 'What an adventure'. Many have questioned the sanity, I will let you decide...... I will try my hardest to keep you updated with our whereabouts. I will also try to write in a witty, informative style. Remembering the last time I wrote more than a paragraph started with Once upon a time.... The next time you read this Blog hopefully we will be ... read more
