April 25-27 Wow am I behind! We’ve been so busy, on the move, or just plain exhausted that I haven’t had a second to get on my laptop, except to send a few quick e-mails. I got the pictures to upload!! April 24 "Hey Frances can you turn the air conditioning back on?" is what I woke up to this morning. Apparently in her half awake state Kathleen forgot that our hotel manager told us that there was going to be a power outage for 2 hours in the morning...hence no air conditioning. After reminding her of that fact I drifted back off to sleep and all three of us awoke later at about 12:30pm. April 22, 2008 Ok so I don’t have internet access and I’m a bit tipsy so I don’t exactly remember where I left off…(I do realize my Mom and Dad are going to read this but hopefully as I tell the story they will realize exactly why me being tipsy right now means I’m a good girl afterall!). Anyways, we are now in Luxor. Monday April 21st We arrived in Aswan about 3 hours later than we were supposed to. According to Kathleen that's pretty typical and not unheard of in Egypt. So after our 14.5 hours train ride we walked to our hostel (Keylany), we got a little lost and luckily a nice guy gave us refuge from the heat while the guy from the hostel came to meet us. April 20th Last night the Sufi dancing was really cool! I was starting to get tired and sort of nodded off at the beginning of the performance but luckily it was 90 min long so I didn't miss much! The dancers and musicians were all male and all performed very well. For a few of the numbers there were guys in the middle twirling in a circle. One of the guys twirled for over 30 minutes!! We're HERE! Kim and I arrived in Cairo last night (Friday April 18th) at 9:00pm Egyptian time. After a little haggling we took a cab to meet up with Kathleen and then made our way to our hostel. The guy's running our hostel are pretty cool, so after checking in with them and arranging a tour for day we went to SLEEP! We woke up this morning at about 7am and were out the door at 8am to see the pyramids of Giza. We took a taxi to a place outside the pyramids and then rode camels to the pyramids themselves.
