interesting comments I can see that India must be overwhelming and not the kind of place to rest, relax and spend a leisurely vacation. It's smart of you to end it all by relaxing on the beach, getting massages and "rejuvenation" treatments. You'll look like a teenager when you get back which won't be a day too early!
Awesome! It was awesome to be on the same plane. That was the best layover I have ever had. I can still remember being in Kuwait like it was yesterday. Most people probably have percieved notions about what the middle east is like. Its funny to go to the small oil rich states and see Applebees, Friday's and malls everywhere.
heat and colors So much heat and so many colors.....sure beats the grey overcast we have here. Will they be celebrating any holidays while you're there?
Confused Oh, and one other thing. I'm totally confused about your comment
"we didn’t realize that we weren’t on M.G. Road -which I now know would never have a section as far as the eye could see without wall-to-wall stallsduh."
Why would that road have wall-to-wall stalls? What kind of stalls? Bathroom stalls? Please explain!! :)
Happy Holidays! Well, despite the few small mishaps (some of which were out of your control, like the fog!!) you made it to Qatar!! Wow. I hope you and your brother have a fabulous time and I'm thrilled to read about it on your blog :) Seattlites like me are missing you this holiday, Kate!
Glad the "getting there" is over now so you can enjoy your brother's company. Also glad you got to miss the mess back here in Seattle (power outages everywhere). Will look forward to hearing more. Bruce starts his trek home late tonight. This ability to travel across the world is amazing. Happy adventures!
amazing i'm thrilled that you're both together and having a day already in Doha, architecture, ex-pats, education campus, malls and money and all so you can catch up on lots and plot out your adventures; much love, d
what an itinerary! I bet you'll gladly go back to the better hotels for the last 10 days. Who likes possible bugs and/or not so clean sheets? Not to mention those backpacks which will be safer left in a better place while you go sightseeing. That will be money better spent than on Indian "chatschkes" (a Hindi word).
Do you really remember all those names of places without looking them up each time? Anyway, it all sounds too exciting for words! ENJOY!
