Brisie to Sydney Oceania » Australia » New South Wales
Well its a bit of time since I’ve done the last update. I'm now back, on my little holiday from a holiday, in the UK and have been for a week and a half. But that’s another entry. For the rest of my time in Brisie, was spent doing much the same bits as I had first time round in the city. This time I went up to the Roma Street parklands, which amazed me as it is much more landscaped than the botanical gardens and is such a lush escape right in the city. I also went on the Brisbane [View Full Entry]

Since my last blog and that morning walk on Magnetic island I now pretty much travelled the rest of the way down Queensland. The rest of that day was spent resting not doing any more walks as planned as I came over rather dehydrated from numerous nights on the piss and not drinking enough water. The next day we left, getting the ferry over to the mainland, and the greyhound coach to Airlie beach. Airlie is a backpacker party town, every backpacker on the East coast stops here as it’s the jumping off point for the Whitsunday Islands. After getting in [View Full Entry]

Our Whitsundays Boat

Well Cairns, We landed and got out and got to our hostel before 9am, to be told that we couldn’t check in till 2pm, but they would let us in at 1pm. Well being rather tired we sat by the pool and tried to sleep. Being way to hot we gave up and went in to town for a McDonalds breakfast. That day was spent lazing by the pool and then popping quickly in to town to the Lagoon, a man made beach on cairns’ waterfront including a beach - badly needed as cairns’ waterfront is just muddy mango flats. Meeting [View Full Entry]

This is a little late now as I'm actually over in Queensland, but this blog is for my time in the Northern Territory. Late morning as we got in to the outskirts of Darwin I finally got signal after not having any since leaving Broome and got a message from Ness. Her message said she’d sorted the hostel for the following night, confused I text back to find out that she was staying in the Novotel hotel in Darwin and there was a key for me in reception. This was sweet after 12 nights of camping over 14 days and was [View Full Entry]

Since my last blog we have left Broome on the final part of the journey through to the WA border and then fast on to Darwin. Sunday morning took us up to Derby to see the prison Boab tree. The boab tree is around 14m round, with a small opening on one side and hollow inside, the best guess put its age at anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500 years old. The tree was used as an overnight store for prisoners, pretty much all Aboriginal by most accounts, on the way to the Derby gaol. From there we turned off the highway [View Full Entry]

I have no idea when I’ll get online and send this. We’ve just been through Carnarvon and looked for a Mackie D’s, for the free internet but couldn’t find one. I'm travelling with two Swedish guys, Will and Peter, in a four wheel drive Nissan. Will the driver, who is also a mechanic by trade - pretty useful on long journeys like this, decided to do it as three to save us been sardine. The first day, Friday, we set off from Perth around 2 in the afternoon and got as far as Lancelin and was a bit unprepared about where [View Full Entry]

Good bye Perth Oceania » Australia » Western Australia » Perth
Well this is just a quick little update. I thought I'd take a leave out of Rebecca’s book how does seriously short blogs. I’ve been back in Perth for two weeks now and have enjoyed the lazing around. Haven’t done a great deal as the weather has on the most part been pretty bad - windy and raining (yes its not always sunny and warm here). I did manage to catch up with a few mates and bits of the family which was nice. But a good deal of my time was spent finding a lift up to Darwin on Gumtree [View Full Entry]

I’ve now finished up at BP Norseman and am back in Perth. I’m hanging round here until I find myself a lift up the West coast to Darwin. Not a lot happened in my last few weeks at work. The manager decided against getting one of the new blokes doing the night shift, consequently I had to carry on doing my two nights a week and the rest of the week doing my lates. The first weekend I got the coach down to Esperance. Esperance is on the South coast 200km south. The Friday I got there too late to do [View Full Entry]

Well it’s quite a while since my last blog. I'm still down in Norseman working at the BP Roadhouse. On the work front not too much has changed. This week I've had my first major change of shifts, I have since practically starting been stuck on permanent earlies with only the odd late shift and one day off a week. This has now changed to 4 days of lates and two night shifts. I'm sitting in my room at the mo and its 3pm and I’m feeling rather spaced out with no effort to do anything, after getting a few hours [View Full Entry]

Norseman Oceania » Australia » Western Australia
Well * Its now a week later than i typed the first bit of this as the site was down when i tried posating it last time I’m now down in Norseman having been at my new job for a week. Norseman is located about 700km’s inland from Perth, Pretty much directly east. It’s at the end of the Eyre highway that goes over the Nullabour to South Australia and half way between Esperence, on the South coast and Kalgoorlie. The town is rather small, only 900 people and although it appears to have more shops than Waroona there have some [View Full Entry]
