Well as everyone would know by now, London was not the place to be in today. We arrived in London at 7am at Heathrow. Due to delays in Bangkok and long lines in customs we were late getting out of Heathrow, which turned out to be a blessing. We arrived at the tube station at about 8.45am to buy our tickets for the Piccidily line to central London. We had to wait for a while and suddenly the station was closed down. At the time we were told that a power failure had stopped all all the underground. We thought that [View Full Entry]

Cabbages & Condoms & TukTuks

Amy, Evita and I out the front of the restuarant in a TukTuk
On our last night in Bangkok Evita, Amy and I went to dinner at a restuarant called 'Cabbages & Condoms'. Dana and Wendy went out for a family dinner with their parents. Cabbages & Condoms was a really lovely place, we sat outside amongst all the fairy lights, they had mist blowing around (to keep it cool) and a lady singing in the background. We arrived very early in the morning (about 7.30am!) and headed straight to the beach to get a good position and lounge chairs. Turns out there was no need to rush, no one gets started in Samui before 10.30am. We spent the first morning sunning ourselves and taking swims in the ocean. We ate lunch at a beach restuarant, munching down thai food with our toes in the beach, not a bad way to eat. After lunch we had a [View Full Entry]

Hi! This is my first entry on my overseas adventure. We left Canberra on Wednesday 29th June and arrived in Bangkok late that night. Amy Pietsch, Wendy and I flew cattle class but had fun doing it. We drank champagne and watched movies (some of us stupidly wached romantic love movies, should have stuck to the comedy I think). None of us slept very well. Luckily Evita made it on our flight, we didn't know if she would until 20 minutes before we boarded, but she flew in true style - with a slepper bed in Business class, we were green [View Full Entry]
