Well I've (sort of - I'll tell you during the trip sometime) quit my job and I'm travelling around the world for the next 2 months to see snow and deserts, volcanoes and big cities, historic landmarks and friends abroad. It should be great fun and hopefully I'll keep this updated for all of you to keep track of my adventures.
Have fun while I'm gone - I know I will! ;D
So after I posted my last entry in London, I went for a walk around the city on the monday and looked at some of the design shops in the Oxo Tower building and bought a reading light from one shop which is essentially a wire person reading where the light is it's head. After that I walked over to St Pauls Cathederal and climbed the 520 odd steps in narrow one way corridors to the top where there is a magnificant view of the city. And the monuments to the Duke of Wellington and Lord Nelson are quite impressive too. On the tuesday I packed my bags in the morning then went for a tour around the new globe theatre then sat along the themes for a bit before heading out to Heathrow for my

So I left London on the 18th and after landing in Paris and eventually making it to my hostel (I spent a good hour just trying to get a train ticket!) I spent the afternoon in the Lourve (a very impressive palace in it's own right) which is the first museum I've been in where I haven't got bored after a few hours. In fact it closed before I got bored of it! Saw the Mona Lisa and some Michaelanglo sculptures and lots of ancient Egyption and Roman artifacts which was amazing even though I can't read French and all the info in the gallaries was in French! Next time I think I'll get one

It was great fun and I learnt a few new moves, taught some of the rope dart moves I know, showed off my new fire head for my rope dart and did some fire spinning on the beach each night. And the spot we were camped was only a 10 minute walk from the beach which reminded me of Australian beaches with nice sand, good waves and clear blue water. Shame the water was soo cold tho! I went in til there was water up to my ankles and my feet were numb within a minute! Anyway, tomorrow morning I'm off to Paris which should be great! I'll be staying just

I caught a bus out to St Albans which is where Jo and Richie (some friends from Perth who now live over here) live and where I've been staying for the last week. I spent the rest of the day relaxing and snoozing a bit cause after a 10 hour flight which I didn't sleep on, I was pretty jet lagged by the time the plane landed at 7am london time. On friday I caught a train into the city and made the mistake of going in early (before 9am) and getting stuck in the crowds going to work and

So after I left Hawaii I landed in San Francisco on the 23rd of August and checked in to the Green tortoise hostel. On the 24th I caught a ferry tour out to Angel island (an island for mostly chinese immagrants into the US in the mid 20th century) and then Alcatraz which everyone should know about. It was really cool walking around alcatraz and doing the audio tour of the cells which tells you the history and where some of the more famous people (such as Al Capone) where held. That night a mate from Perth who has been travelling the world for 6 months arrived so we went out

When we got here we thought (because our guide books told us we could) that to hire a car we could just arrive at the airport and hire one - but we thought wrong and the only car we could hire (after 10 minutes of asking hire companies multiple times) was a car I'd been paying out ever since I landed in the US. A Ford Mustang Convertible! So we hired it and stayed in Hilo our first night and got bought a drink from some locals. Thursday we drove to volcanoes national park and decide to walk across Kileaua Caldera (a 7 mile return trip) in the hottest part of the day starting from Volcano House which

Anyway, Just thought I'd post for the novelty value. Hawaii is nice and warm and sunny and soon I'll head down to the beach and go for a swim. It was pretty crowded earlier so hopefully it thins out a bit as the afternoon progresses. Oh and I'm off to the Big Island on Wednesday to see some volcanoes and stuff. Can't wait! :D

The funny thing is that right now I'm technically in both Queenstown and Hawaii at the same time thanks to the Date line ::) Anyway, Kim and I spent the last 2 days boarding at Cardrona which was great on saturday but yesterday there were big patches of ice amongst the powder which made it really difficult. It was also really windy and a snow storm hit at about 1pm so it wasn't the best day to be out but that's the way it goes :) Anyway, I can't wait to go check out the latest volcano eruptions in Hawaii which I saw on the

First I went to Canberra and Sydney and caught up with some family and friends I hadn't seen for quite a while (3 years in some cases!) which was great and then early monday morning I flew from Sydney to Queenstown via Auckland - or that was how it was supposed to be anyway! The flight to Auckland was uneventful and I had a whole row to myself which was great. getting off at Auckland I was questioned by the security x-ray guys about the "perfectly round thing" in my bag so I took out my contact juggling ball and gave him a quick demo ;) Then while waiting for the connecting flight to Queenstown an announcement comes over the loud speaker saying that

But right now I'm just sitting at home relaxing a bit and enjoying the peace and quiet cause for the next 2 months, I won't have much of it at all :)
