| 8th May 2008 Grace | thank you so so much - From: 06.03.2008 Ampawa Hej Fabienne, thank you very much for your information:) , you are really helpful person:) the home stay really looks great but little bit out of our budget, as we still have too travel half year( maybe more..hehe).......i think if you have a Thai friend, it is more easy to try something local Anyway, we are going to Bangkok tomorrow, i am very happy about that:) have a nice day...thank you:) |
| 6th May 2008 Fabinie | Leelawadee Ampawa Homestay - From: 06.03.2008 Ampawa Hey Grace, this is definitely a nice place to stay as well. At the time I traveled with my Thai friend and he simply googled it "homestay by the river". Here's the link http://www.baansuanleelawadee.com/MainEN.asp?Lang=EN. I have to say though that this home stay is a lot posher than the one in Chiang Mai and it also cost a lot more. We only stayed one night and paid 1200 THB. However, we had air con :) Ampawa is about 30 minutes south of Bangkok. The home stay itself is not actually that easy to find. I also have to say that most of the staff doesn't speak English. Again, I was in Thai company. No idea how you manage if your Thai is as limited as mine but it'd surely be an adventure :) Yes it's really small. It only has four rooms. If you go during the week you might have the whole place to yourself like we did. It's supposed to be busier on weekends. I can't really tell you how to find nice home stays. I got most of them by chance or had it organized by someone else. I was just lucky I guess. Have a save trip! |
