On leaving Melbourne, last wednesday morning, after what seemed the hottest day in the world I was fully prepared for the idea that Tahiti would not be the ¨hot tropical getaway¨ from a cold Melbourne winter and was probably going to be cooler. Today, my last real day of work for 6 months, typically was a nightmare. As one of the NZ managers pointed out to me over the phone, it is to remind me why I am leaving! But now it is done and i'm less than 30 minutes from the pub I can finally relax and start enjoying the idea of 6 months wondering about South America.
