Sorry I have been a little behind on keeping up with the journal. I am not sure what I do all the time (ok I know some of you are thinking she goes and enjoys the drink! That is not always true!), but I am sure it is something exciting! I just want say thanks to everyone who has sent comments! I am such a nerd because I get all excited when I get one! Then again I am the strange person who gets excited about the shiny things in the grocery store (I miss wal-mart). Well as I sit here [View Full Entry]

Amy and I.. it is famous street but I forgot what it is called

Once again I was up at the crack of dawn. 8:30 is early for a lazy student! Walked to the tube to catch a train to the Tower of London. It was very interesting and I still am in shock that I got to see the crown jewels. There was an extreme amount of glitter and glam in one room. It was off to St Paul's church for the rest of the afternoon. I have been many churches in Europe, but I have never seen a ceiling sparkle like this one. The ceiling is done in a Byzantine style, irregular pieces [View Full Entry]

In the Tower
Stain Glass

Woke up and headed out to the tube (this saved us an amazing amount of time!). We headed out to Oxford Street and that is trouble for two girls! I couldn’t believe all the nice stores this street had and I wish I had some money to go crazy. I don't think I could have afforded a sock at any of the places, except H&M (love that store)! We spent too much time looking around and exploring the streets. We ran into Leicester square and it was like a miniature New York. I think London has more to offer than New [View Full Entry]

Help the phone booth is trying to capture me!
I love London!

I use to stare at my computer screen at work with its London back round and dream of the day I would be there! Well I made it! I spent three brilliant days in the city of London! The night before London I got a whole 2 hours of sleep. My friend Ben came over at 5 and we talked till it was time to go. He walked me over to Amber’s hall on the other side of campus and I was very glad I didn’t have to walk at 6am by myself! The taxi came and got us and we [View Full Entry]

Manchester! Europe » United Kingdom » England
Josh, Amber, Kelly(aka negasaurus rex), and I all made our first weekend journey to Manchester. I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before because Amber and I went to the union (had a little slumber party at her place). Woke up ran home and then ran to the bus stop! Made it on the train and headed to Manchester. The ride was fast and the virgin trains are the nicest trains I have been on in all of Europe. We arrived and then headed to China town. It wasn't that impressive and Amber made us stand out in the [View Full Entry]

In the street!

Friday was the best day I have had since I have been in England. Woke up and went for a run out in the countryside. It was beautiful and the hills made my legs hurt for a good two days! I didn't realize how beautiful the land around uni is. I am going to have to bring my camera next time. Then I went home to try to do some school work and of course that didn't happen. As I was sitting there being distracted by the computer the sun crept through the curtains! I almost fell out of my chair [View Full Entry]

Revolutions Europe » United Kingdom » England
Tuesday night is for going out! The night started around 9:30 and a bunch of the girls, who are also exchange students got together to go out on the town of Newcastle. Our night started at Revolutions and I ended up having two horrible drinks. Then I had two good drinks from a pitcher. The brits are crazy and one bloke chugged two pitchers! I really like the two aussies who hang out with Amber and I. Then my friends from my hall showed up and I ended up hanging out with them. Then we all headed to liquid and danced [View Full Entry]

I am going crazy waiting for the pancakes my dad sent! I don’t think I can make it another day! There is also a comfy blanket that my cousin gave me for Christmas in the box! Today was a crazy day! I woke up early, it was around 7:30 (I know this is not early, but to a slacker student it is!). I went to talk to Professor Bailey about adding my British Government class to my schedule. He is a very nice bloke (throwing in some brit culture there) and I know if I need anything I can come bother [View Full Entry]

Ah Lazyness! Europe » United Kingdom » England
Yesterday I went to Birmingham! It was a great little (well not little..it is the second largest city in England!) city with brillant shopping! There is a mall call the "Bull ring" that has every store you could imagine! I know this is bad, but they had Starbucks on every corner! Ofcourse being addicted to chai tea I went in and had a chai latte with soy milk! Don't hate me! I know I am in the middle of Europe drinking Starbucks and that should be illegal! I also had a nice home made vegitarian meal! It is the first day [View Full Entry]

Losing Sanity Europe » United Kingdom » England
Today was one of those days I should have just stayed in bed. I love the fact that England is so laid back and relaxed. The problem is when you need to get something done you have to spend all day doing it! My uni in Texas was not going to give me credit for a class. I ended up having to drop two of my classes and I am trying to add another one. Their system requires you to go from building to building, look at the schedules, and then find someone to talk to to see if you can [View Full Entry]
