I called my dad to wish him a happy birthday yesterday and realised that it was exactly three years to the day that I left New Zealand for Canada. I'm quite shocked, it snuck up on me. To celebrate my third year anniversary I went a played Platonk with a group of Thia's that I had meet the night before. They play every night in the grounds of a temple in Sukhathai. It was really entertaining as they joked and teased each other the whole time. When I did a good shot I was given hand shakes and thumbs up. It was fun, I almost stayed in Sukathai to play a third night, but had to get back to Bangkok. Before Sukhathai I was up in Chang Mai. It's a friendly city with plenty of sticky ... read more

So my middle eastern adventure is coming to an end. I've just spent my last Egyptian pounds in the big market Karnel Kelily (can't spell but that is kind of how it sounds) Since leaving my job in Dahab I went up to Israel for ten days. Then came back to Dahab to meet my Parents they have just done a trip of Turkey and Egypt. I was so taken by Israel and a Palestinian family that I took mum and dad back up to Israel with me. We ended up staying with my Palestinian Friends for three days and had a fascinating time. Iede the father took us to Hebron and we could still feel the tension in the city. there was a strong military presence and locals where telling us that streets are still ... read more

heres a few pictures from life in Dahab. Only a few sorry I've been really bad at taking photos here. It has been a very interesting three months in Dahab. For those of you who didn't know I got a job working on the counter of a dive center. Very Random! I was passing through on my tour and I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed diving so when the owner offered me the job it only took me half an hour to day yes. It was very different working instead of holidaying though and I gave the job three months and have just called it quits. It's hard to describe my exact reasons for not really enyoing it. The job drove me crazy. trying to organise tourist and Egyptians at the same time was a nightmare. ... read more

Hello Hello I set of from London on April 23rd to Turkey and joined in on a 35day overland tour from Istambul to Cairo. Fun eh! I'm having a blast and Loved Turkey. My Favourite place was Goreme which was so interesting with all the Farry Chimney's. All the Local shop owners kept offering us apple tea so we would come in for a chat...and maybe buy something. Fi (one of he girls on tour) stoped into one and he was born in one of the caves. He was funny "i am cave man" he said. Next on the Favourite list was Galipoli for ANZAC day. The New Zealand Service was very moving and I'm so glad I got there for it. Third favourite place was Olympos and after several long driving days it was ... read more

Hi I've just spent the last month at my Parents house out in Muriwai (west auckland) and thought it was about time to put some pics of home and my family on the web page. I came back for my cousin's wedding so it has been a family affair with everyone home from various parts of the world. It was fantastic to have all the Henley's back in Auckland after so long. (We were only missing my aunty Margie, sorry you couldn't come). Mum and dad's place is fantastic for entertaining so thanks to them for puting on heaps of good meals and accomodating my friends as well. Christmas day was a blast with heaps of food and family fun. Here's some pictures from the wedding and christmas. PS. I'm heading back to the UK via ... read more

I'm not sure where to start for this Blog it's been to long since my last one. I think I left you in Florence which now feels like forever ago. From Florence we travelled down to Rome and spent three days there soaking up the sights of the Vatican city and the Colosium. From there we visited Naples and Pompie then caught a ferry to Greece. Spent about 10 days island hoping and enjoying the island life then headed from Athens up to Albaina. All the Albainian's we meet were so friendly and welcoming and gave us great advice on were to travell next. So it was off to an old pirate town in Montenigro called Ulcini. From there we travelled up the coast to Croatia and visited Dubrovnick which is one of the most picturesq ... read more

Today I am in Florence. This time last week I was in Barcelona... We have picked up the pace on our van tour and we are seeing some fantastic things. Barcelona was interesting. We arrived on a Sunday so not to much was open but we mad a point of going to see the foot ball stadium there and it was massive, third biggest in the world...it think. from Barcelona we drove over into France and stopped in Marseilles. I loved it, it was so beautiful. we did a self guided walking tour through all the old streets and to a cathedral and some monuments. Only in Marseilles for a couple of hours because we were off to hob knob with the rich and famous in Canes... Canes was kind of what I expected. Lots a ... read more

I have never been to anything like the Isle of White Festival!!!! That is a true statement. From the moment we arrived on Thursday morning the action never stoped. The head line acts on friday night where Placibo and Prodigy, Saturday night was Foo fighters and Sunday went off with Richard Ashcroft then Coldplay. But all the inbetween bands where great to. There where big dance tent's to and heaps of rides to go on. It was just fantastic. I'm sorry I only managed to get four pictures attached before my camera ran out of battery. I'll get some more on tomorrow, but hpefully they give you a little ... read more
