I called my dad to wish him a happy birthday yesterday and realised that it was exactly three years to the day that I left New Zealand for Canada. I'm quite shocked, it snuck up on me. To celebrate my third year anniversary I went a played Platonk with a group of Thia's that I had meet the night before. They play every night in the grounds of a temple in Sukhathai. It was really entertaining as they joked and teased each other the whole time. When I did a good shot I was given hand shakes and thumbs up. It [View Full Entry]

This marble slab is where it is said Jesus was laid after his death. People Kiss it and lay their gifts on it for a blessing. So this is what I am doing.
So my middle eastern adventure is coming to an end. I've just spent my last Egyptian pounds in the big market Karnel Kelily (can't spell but that is kind of how it sounds) Since leaving my job in Dahab I went up to Israel for ten days. Then came back to Dahab to meet my Parents they have just done a trip of Turkey and Egypt. I was so taken by Israel and a Palestinian family that I took mum and dad back up to Israel with me. We ended up staying with my Palestinian Friends for three days and had [View Full Entry]

Few Pics from Dahab

 Africa » Egypt » Sinai » Dahab
heres a few pictures from life in Dahab. Only a few sorry I've been really bad at taking photos here. It has been a very interesting three months in Dahab. For those of you who didn't know I got a job working on the counter of a dive center. Very Random! I was passing through on my tour and I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed diving so when the owner offered me the job it only took me half an hour to day yes. It was very different working instead of holidaying though and I gave the job three months and [View Full Entry]

Hello Hello I set of from London on April 23rd to Turkey and joined in on a 35day overland tour from Istambul to Cairo. Fun eh! I'm having a blast and Loved Turkey. My Favourite place was Goreme which was so interesting with all the Farry Chimney's. All the Local shop owners kept offering us apple tea so we would come in for a chat...and maybe buy something. Fi (one of he girls on tour) stoped into one and he was born in one of the caves. He was funny "i am cave man" he said. Next on the Favourite [View Full Entry]

It was a formal wedding so we were all in our finest gear. I even wore a dress!
Hi I've just spent the last month at my Parents house out in Muriwai (west auckland) and thought it was about time to put some pics of home and my family on the web page. I came back for my cousin's wedding so it has been a family affair with everyone home from various parts of the world. It was fantastic to have all the Henley's back in Auckland after so long. (We were only missing my aunty Margie, sorry you couldn't come). Mum and dad's place is fantastic for entertaining so thanks to them for puting on heaps of good [View Full Entry]

From the town of Bol which is on the island of Brac
I'm not sure where to start for this Blog it's been to long since my last one. I think I left you in Florence which now feels like forever ago. From Florence we travelled down to Rome and spent three days there soaking up the sights of the Vatican city and the Colosium. From there we visited Naples and Pompie then caught a ferry to Greece. Spent about 10 days island hoping and enjoying the island life then headed from Athens up to Albaina. All the Albainian's we meet were so friendly and welcoming and gave us great advice on were [View Full Entry]

Sorry I havenīt had a chance to do a blog in ages. We left london on july first and have been making our way around the coast of Spain and Portrugal. Iīve been having a ball and am geting a fab tan. Fist stop was Paris to see the sights then we traveled through Bordeaux for a bit of culture and wine tasting before the mayhem of Pamplona and the running of the bulls. Then it was off to St Sebastian and we managed to see a Bob Dylan concert on the beach. You could almost recognise some of his songs. [View Full Entry]
