Today was a good day! I got up and went to the library after being internet deprived all weekend. I was there for a little while before I had to go to school. The weather was yucky and a bit rainy. Rachel and I walked to school together. My first class was 6th grade English. The kids were actually pretty good today, then had homework that was due, and of course about only half of them actually did it. Well.. It was a pretty boring weekend. Friday we got up early and went to the bus station to catch a bus to Cordoba. It was me, Rachel, Cecilia, Christine and Evan because we all had to turn in our paper work to get our residence forms. We finally found the building we were looking for and went to the office of a woman named Ana. Its Thursday again. So last night after siesta I went with Rachel to the birthday party for one of our teachers, Ana, who turned 24. Of course we were the first people there (being americans we were 5 minutes early) and she has a very beautiful apartment with a lot of windows and a gorgeous view. She showed us her place and then we got some juice and waited for others to arrive. Ok… so here is what has been happening in my life for the past few days: Monday morning we got up at like 7:30 and made sure everything was packed up. So today was a really lazy day... which i greatly needed. We woke up for breakfast at 10 and ate. I went back to bed for a little bit because last night there was a wedding and they were partying till like 2 am! so after i woke up we changed and decided to go on a hike. since our hotel is out in the country... we figured there might be some trails. well apparently people are really big on "private property" so the hotel said there were some trails in the next pueblo. we started trekking and passed through two [View Full Entry]

Well today was another exhausting day. We woke up at 10 for breakfast... which was a major disappointment considering this beautiful 4 star hotel we are in... but whatever. I fell back asleep for about 40 minutes then showered and the taxi picked us up and took us back into the city. I missed yesterday, so here's a recap of Thursday: Woke up on TIME for once! Went down for beakfast and then went back to my room to get ready. Orientation in the morning was pretty boring and not really useful. WE had 3 sessions and then Cecilia and I went to the grocery store and got some empanadas and fruit for lunch. We had one more session from a past participant on how to make extra money while living in spain. her ideas were giving private english classes or perhpas working as a nanny. Today was yet another long day! its currently almost 1:00 am here. why am i not asleep? I once again woke up late... i some how managed to lose my watch in the middle of the night. So morning was frantic. I dressed in a hurry and ran down for breakfast. I had some fresh fruit and fresh squeezed OJ along with cereal, sweet rolls and potatoes, and some good strong european coffee.
