Apparently I haven't been updating enough for some people. Erin is going to write a blog very soon about our recent adventures, but here are pics of our dogs to tide you over. By the way we went bunjee jumping on the weekend. Erin will be able to tell you all about it. [View Full Entry]

Well, they are here. And I can't tell you how happy I am to say that. I'm going to write out the whole story of our day picking them up here, so as not to have to re-write it over and over again. It was a long and harrowing process, but in the end, through the hard work of some very nice people, we were able to bring them to their new Korean home. First off, let me say that I love Korea. The Korean people we have met here have been helpful, polite, and kind. Some have opened their homes [View Full Entry]

I decided that I really need to catch up on this thing. I am a couple weeks behind, so this entry may be a little less in depth than usual. So I have been at the school for 2 fill weeks now. The first week was a cake walk, as Thursday and Friday were holidays and since I was new there was really nothing for me to do. I introduced myself, answered questions and basically did whatever Sue, my co-teacher, told me to. It was pretty easy, although I realised very early I have to get used to both the accent [View Full Entry]

So, the other day, not the Thursday past, but the one before that, I was out for a walk. I've been ranging farther afield these days, and that day I went...well, I'm not sure of the direction because I'm not sure which way is north, but I went some way. I walked across this bridge over a shallow river (I'm not sure the name) and saw down below me that there was a paved bike path down one side, and a worn down walking path down the other. Across the river every little while was either a bridge, or large concrete [View Full Entry]

So here I am again. Finally. I should apologize for my tardiness, I suppose, but it is what it is. I am very much an inside my own head kind of person, so I sort of needed to wrap my head around things. Couple that with having done a ton of stuff and knowing I need to document it. Procrastination is main skill. Anyhow, I will get to it. Last I left off I believe I was describing Itaewon and Yongsan. We have been back to both places since and my opinions have changed. I will get to that in a [View Full Entry]

So, even if i have nothing to say, i figure, that I can use this as a photo blog. I'm trying to take at least some pictures each day, so those'll be uploaded pretty often I think. I'm practicing, in hopes of one day being able to take good pictures. [View Full Entry]

Living in a strange country, with different customs can have a sense of unreality at first, it seems. You have no idea, really, whats going on around you. You can only watch and guess. Sometimes the guessing is pretty easy. A courtyard full of students dancing to drums, running around waving balloons, is pretty obviously a festival. On the other hand, why were they having one? Children's day, we think. While Erin worked last week I wandered around the neighborhood. I'm starting to know my way around Pyeongchon, the area right around our apartment and subway stop, and Beomgye, an area [View Full Entry]

Friday we did a bit more shopping to get all the last bit and bobs. We had to buy toilet paper, and we just bought the same one that was here when we got here. Just so you know, if it has little flowers on it, it smells like flowers!!! Jeffry discovered that when he couldn't find any kleenex the other day. I vow to always buy scented toilet paper as long as I can find it! Things like this amuse me beyond words, and I will always get a laugh out of it. We also wanted an air freshener, as [View Full Entry]

We made it to the airport very early, for which I am glad, as it allowed us to spend some time with family, as well as for Davian to run home and get my forgotten Wedding Rings!! I knew we would forget something, as I always do, so it was nice to have them back. We could always have mailed them I suppose. Once we were ready to head through security we said our goodbyes. I have to admit, for me, that was very hard. I am not good at goodbyes, and really at that point just wanted to stay there. [View Full Entry]
