This blog will be brief, I just have a lot of pictures and videos I took this past week of my kids, and I wanted to show them. Thursday we went to an Arboretum, where the kids walked around, learned nothing, and hoped to see a snake. But I did get some cute pictures and videos. This past Saturday Daniel and I went to Insadong and met up with some friends to do some shopping. Along the way we stopped at the coolest tea shop ever. It was upstairs in a back alley, and really small! When you walked in the door you had to maneuver yourself around pillows, small tables and half walls. Anyone without good balance, in a wheelchair, or slightly overweight would be unable to come here. We sat at a little round table in the back and were given little tea menus. This weekend I had one of the best times since I have been in country, despite Dan still being away. (Only one more week, woo hoo!) I had a three day weekend because it was Korea's Memorial Day, so no work on Friday. It's been forever since I've posted so I thought I'd sit down and write something. Daniel has been gone since last Sunday to work the range. He will be gone for another 2-3 weeks. I have filled my weekend time with going to the pool, walking around Dongducheon, and going to dinner with friends. On Friday we had a company dinner since two teachers are leaving in the next few days. Hey All! This will be a short blog, I really don't have too much to report. I have been really sick with a lovely combination of flu and chest cold. The flu kept me from work twice last week, and the chest cold loves to keep me up at night coughing. I was told the Yellow Dust (that comes in the wind from China) was to be ending shortly. Last Sunday Daniel and I took a train to the Changdeokgung Palace (about 100 mins.) which was the home of King Taejong of the Joseon Dynasty. It was built in 1405 and was destroyed by the Japanese during the Imjin Invasion (1592-1598). Unlike the neighboring palace of Gyeongbokgung which was constructed on flat land and had a perfectly North and South axis layout, the Changdeokgung was built in the mountainside and thus the design considered the geographical landscape and looked more natural. As I write this blog, Dan is sleeping next to me, which means that he is (yay!) home from being away for two weeks. March 24, 2008 Hey everyone! I have decided to start titling my blogs with funny little quotes that I hear. I find them to be much more entertaining than "Our Easter Weekend" which was in itself not that interesting. Hope you all had a beautiful Easter.
