Like I commented on FB, don't worry about lack of internet to blog - after all you're there to SEE the world and a bit of disconnection from internetland isn't a bad thing xx
Hello Zanzibar Emma, you in ZZB yet, probably a bad internet connection, sent you an email to your personal e mail adress. Biltong awaiting you in SA. Love Reenee xx

Hook up with the Aussies they're always fun - when I went to Barcelona we joined up with group of gappers and the Aussie guy was the best of the bunch lol xx
Descriptive I agree Suelynn about Emma's writing. She really should go down this road as you can feel the ease and enjoyment of the descriptions. It brought back so many memories of how I felt to be in Kenya. Looking forward to hearing about today and seeing more pictures.
Africa is so pretty! And I am somewhat ticked off that I did not figure out the commenting thing before, so everyone already said what I wanted to say! Love the pics, but some with you in would be good...and with a fit bloke or two even better. Counting down to when you get here! Love you! <3 xxxx
Awesome! What a fantastic writer you are, Emma! By including the sounds and smells, you really set the scene! What a long way you've come (literally) from the girl who thought a trip to the US was soooo loooong! Your pictures are beautiful, too. Can't wait to hear more!
Wow, what an amazing start to your time in Africa. Hope you managed to shake off Herr Tony?!?! I'm looking forward to the next entry on your blog and seeing more amazing photos. xxx
you have so made the right decision :) Have just read your blog Emma and although i don't really know you that well, I so admire you for taking the giant step to leave a comfortable if not totally mundane job to have the best time of your life. I'm so excited for you and will follow your journey on your blog. Have fun and enjoy every moment, stay safe and i look forward to reading about your adventures xx
Publish this! All that reading has paid off... You write so beautifully, eloquently and descriptive. An absolute joy to read. I'm pensive for the next installment!!
You're off to a great start! Oh, Emma, I do understand how you felt when you stepped out the door from home. When I got deployed to Bahrain back in 2003, it about killed me to walk away from my family, knowing that I wouldn't be seeing them again for months and months; but looking out of the plane window to see the lights of Murhurraq Airport and Manama, Bahrain gleaming up in a bright splash in the midst of the Persian Gulf was incredibly exciting, and at that point, I was able to look forward to my adventure, and all of the things I'd be doing and people I'd be meeting before I came home again.
I hope that your adventure is one whose memories you will always cherish.

Amazing sunrise! I can tell I'm going to love this blog already.... just be careful you don't take tooo many drinks off fat, balding, middle-aged men - there must be plenty of fitties on the travel circuit too lol! xx
I'm a 20-something, stuck in a rut, small town girl who has been afflicted with something that keeps me awake at night and makes it difficult to focus on the mundane, and which occasionally sees me breaking into a silly smile at inappropriate moments as I imagine myself stepping out of my comfortably routine life and into a world where I can find who I really am through new experiences and memories to last a lifetime. I believe they call it wanderlust.
My travels will begin in January 2012, when I set off for Africa with a Lonely Planet guidebook as my sole companion. I don't claim to be a ... full info
