Cool stuff Emily! Well, I know, I was there:) Hello to all of you in the US too:) I just wanted to say that everything Emily wrote was pretty much true except for the fact that I said that it's a Finnish tradition to jump into the snow 3 times - I only told them to do it 3 times so that I could get a good photo :D, I didn't say anything about any tradition:) Oh, and there were 189 steps:) Viva Narnia! Viva Laponia! Viva Finlandia! God bless America! Emil

I really enjoyed this trip with you Emily and your pictures tell more of your story. Next winter if you ever want to go CROSS COUNTRY SKIING I will go with you or you can borrow my skiis and boots. We also have SNOW SHOES. All the fun you shared made me feel like going out and playing in the SNOW!! BUT all our SNOW is gone-so I do have to wait until next year. You will have so many wonderful memories and your blogs and pictures will let you re-tell your stories for years. Love you mean it, Auntie Claudette

Hi! - From: The First weekend
Hi Emily! I´m an exchange student who came to MSU from Finland for this spring. It´s fun to read about your experiences in Finland, now that I´m here in your school :) I love the weather here, sun is just shining all day long. It is so dark in Finland during the winter. Have a nice spring and I hope you enjoy yourself there! Paula Pitkänen

Your trip- you're a trip! - From: The First weekend
Great journaling, Emily. Your narration created a wonderful vision for me of your first few days there. I could picture you sitting in the ferry station trying to shake a chill while waiting for the church to open. I look forward to your next entry. In the mean time, I will pray for you and continue to ask Michael the Arc Angel to watch your back! God bless you sweetie!

Good on ya, girl! Look how diverse you are, living with Germans, eating with Italians, and living in Finland. I expect you to be like quadlingual when you come back! I think I made that word up... Love you, mean it! I am pretty much jelous that now YOU are the one that is abroad, but am heaps proud of you as well! Make sure you catch up on their lingo and bring it back here. When roughing it in Finland... - From: Finland at last!
...the only solution is to do some redecorating! First on the list: pick up a '365 hot Finnish guys' daily calendar, which should be 50% off by now. Second on the list: try to find said guys... which has nothing to do with redecorating, but would be fun nonetheless! Anyway, things will get better very very soon, so for now enjoy the fact that you are IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!!! and know that God is with you every moment.

A Good Start - From: Finland at last!
Yes, the "days" are rather short during the winter where you're staying! It's wonderful that you have others to help with the adjustment. Did your computer connection start smoking because you had the wrong electrical connection? I know that my daughter had to buy converters for her equipment when she studied in Grenada. Keep writing... I love hearing from you and want to learn more about your experiences. We're hoping that everything goes well and that other students will want similar experiences. Donna

Hi! - From: Finland at last!
Hello Emily! It was such a great surprise to get your first blog. I lost track of time and didn't realize you were already there. What a great adventure and you are already experiencing some of the differences between cultures, even if it's just the electrical current. Ha ha. I'm very excited for you and can't wait to hear of your continued experiences! RR
