Hello there loyal readers and worryers, I just got back to civilization today, after spending nearly a week, one glorious week on the island of Koh Ru, here off the coast of cambodia. and well, yeah it was splendid. Hello land lubbers!!!!! Hey y'all, So I decided that I can ooh and ahh over these kids and this place as much as I desire but you just have to see some of the pictures. Today was the last day that the big rotary group was here so they put on a big base ball game with a ton of equipment that they brought for the kids. I'ts the most amaxzing place I've ever been. It was started about 10 years ago by an aussie man and his thai wife. She, Asa, is an Akha woman who was basially taken when she was 6 years old and thrown into a residential school like system. Hello all, Well we made it to the kids center, it's not an orphanage at all. we got here on friday and loving it already. It's about 45 minutes south of chiang rai, and there are 400 kids here. We sleep in the older girls dorm, so with about 35 11-14 year olds. it's been really great since we got here, the rest of the volunteers are really nice, but the kids are just overwhelmingly adorable and loving. within minutes of being here they would charge us for hugs, I must get about 600 hugs a day, waaaay more than the [View Full Entry]

hello there, so we were supposed to leave for the orphanage today, but alas, something got mixed up and we sat at the bus depot for two hours and didn't get picked up. so we're stilln chiang rai, hich doesn't relly haveanything in it that we have not done already. you can only walk through a tourist night market so many times. but then we thought of somethin to do: go for thai massages!!!!
