I last left you somewhere in north queensland, just having got off a yatch going around the Whitsundays. I have had multiple complaints (mostly from parents) about my non writing. We left Cambodia through the land crossing into Vietnam, which was very uneventful and ventured into Vietnam. Alex and I only had 3 days in Saigon or Ho Chi Mihn City, depending on whether you come from the North or South, and so much to do. By then, our backpack wardrobes were in a state of disrepair. I spent the last two weeks in Cambodia, my new favourite country and one I'm going to return to as soon as possible! I also spent the two weeks on my first and last tour I ever intend on taking... Right, so we flew to Bangkok from Singapore - I was so glad to get out of that sterile, constrained place, I felt I could hardly breath! And ... at the airport I had a steak. The end has come. I am leaving the land of the unexpected and wonderfully unexplainable India and going to a new and hopefully very clean Singapore. 'Every cloud has a silver lining' - even if it is only a hopefuly good story to tell, but that will come later... So, have now spent a week in The North, and although it is not the 'differant country' to the south which everyone told me about, it certainly is differant! And not just in the style in which the ladies wear their saris! Our immense train journey to Varansi was actually very fun - we were in a posh carraige which a man who declared us not much older than his two year old grandchild and pratically put us to bed. very endeering! I'm in a little internet cafe with a big sign above my head saying 'Porn Sites Strickly Prohibited, Please Visit Again' passing the time in a town called Manmad before a 20 hour train ride to Varanassi. I say a ride because that is what trains are. Their not quite as life threatening and terrifying as a bus, but you are taken through of Indian life.
