| 19th November 2009 Elton | - From: Cambodia; where people are happy just to be alive! Hi, Im sorry that Im reacting this late, I hope it's not too late. I travelled myself from Ho Chi Mihn City in Vietnam to Phnom Pehn with a bus. There are two or three buscompanies offering direct buses between the two cities with the cost of about US$8 to $12. From Can Tho City I have no idea how you'd travel to Cambodia because I haven't been there. In Phnom Pehn there is an area, near a lake, called Boeng Kak, where you'll find most of the city's budget accomodation. There are many so you can go and find one. I didn't book in advance and I really don't know the name of the guesthouse where I've stayed anymore. Southeast Asia is definitely safe for women to travel alone, regardless your race. There is very little crime. The only thing tourists encounter is theft, pickpocketing etc but no assaults and so on. Note that in Cambodia people may stare a lot at you, especially in Siem Reap, because they're not used to see coloured people. They'll look a lot at you, but not negatively. I was seeing pictures of the Cinta Costera last week on the internet, it looks nice! I know, Panama is changing a lot! Everytime i go back, there is so much more built and that's why I hope that the new metro will really become reality, like Martinelli promised during his election campaign. Cangilones de Gualaca is great, I love it! Elton,this afternoon i was checking the interview Robby did with you and the Aruban guy....Tell him to "bai poko-poko si" with his native language,otherwise tomorow he cannot speak his Dushi Arubian language anymore... (lol) All by all i'am glad to have coordinate that the two of you could have that interview at the famous TREVY fountain. I do not have to ask you about the temperature,because i know how "kayente" it had to be that midday,i'am glad i refused to go on the tour this year... And how about the scooters in Rome? Aki na Hulanda ta baiskel,in Rome it is Scooter...thousant's.... When in Croatia do not be too surprise if you may hear some Papiamentu on the street...because there may be some Curacao Airline Pilots in the "bisindario" ...It's a pitty that one of them,a good MD-83 Captain friend of my has finish his contract already at Dubrovnik,otherwise i could have passed you his telephone number so you could meet him and sit down at some nice terrace,sipping some delicious coctail and chatting about aviation....(!) | 29th July 2007 Jacques en Wilma | Prachtige foto's - From: Napoli e il regione di Toscana. Je maakt weer een mooie reis. Van 27 juni tot 21 juli waren we zelf met de caravan in Italie. Vanwege de hitte zijn we alleen in het noorden gebleven: Alpen, Gardemeer en de kust bij Venetie. Op dit moment zijn Jacqueline en Mark in Italie in de omgeving van het Bolzena meer. Vorig jaar hebben we in Florence gecampeerd, daarna Bolsena en het meer van Bracciano. Van hieruit Rome bezocht. In de zomer is daar wel erg warm. Nog veel plezier met je reis. Tot ziens, Jacques en Wilma. |
