¡Hola Muchachos! That's about all the español you're getting. Aside from being a dream-like and brilliant scrabble score, it is actually a dream-like and brilliant place, if you can get over the fact that pretty much most of it is reconstruction (like stonehenge, they're never very forthcoming about this!). Two huge pyramids dominate the site: the pyr [View Full Entry]

of the hostel in Mexico City. Mexico city has loads of buskers in uniform playing portable panpipe/accordion type instruments. Hard to describe, but quite eerie music. On the roof you could hear about... [more]
greetings, its evening and we´re waiting for dinner on our hostel's roof terrace (FREE dinner!), which is pretty cool and has a view over the amazingly impressive yet slightly scary baroque/gothic cathedral. Anyway, you may be wondering what the title of the blog refers to. Well, we were hoping to avoid cockroaches till we'd been away at least a few weeks but no such luck. We've found two of the little blighters in our room so far and i'm afraid to say both have been brutally squished. Luckily they were quite small, so i guess its sort of preparation for the [View Full Entry]

Hahahahahhahahahha!!!! Mundane admin update of the week: we've sold our flat!!!! Never thought it would happen, but we've blinking done it. which means we'll have enough cash in the bank to pick up that little beach front bar in Costa Rica we're bound to fall in love with... Anyway, back to travel exploits. Hit the 'hip' bit of San Fran yesterday (home of Greatful Dead & the hippy movement), but I have to say it was really like a Camden theme park - quite depressing. All a bit of a let down after the blissed out sunshine of the Napa Valley. [View Full Entry]

buenos dias amigos y amigas! or rather goodnight if you're reading now. its brunchtime here so its quite funny thinking of all you guys getting into your pjs/watching miss marple/down the pub on your 8th pint of the day. (ps this is nat by the way, we're going to take it in turns to write). the good news is, yesterday the skies cleared and we got some AMAZING views over the bay and of the golden gate bridge. the even better news is that yesterday is the day we chose to head out to wine country. its very beautiful and we [View Full Entry]

it's frickin' raining here. not a blinking good start to the trip on the meteorological front, but otherwise it's all cool. hotel has free wine from the napa valley, which is where we're headed tomorrow. i think the conditions have put paid to the romantic balloon ride, so we're just going to stick to what we're good at and get nice & pissed. i can report that san francisco is a rockin' town - very hilly (probably explains the complete lack of cyclists, runners, and standard morbidly obese americans), lots of good food (thanks mcd-thompson-collinses and to heather for restaurant recomm [View Full Entry]
