The coastal trail is just a few yards away from downtown Anchorage, it covers 11 miles long along the Cook Inlet. You can walk along, bike it, or even cross country skiing in the winter time. We rented bikes from the downtown rental co, we did see some bald eagles while in the trail, we even saw a Lynx, we did not see any moose.... read more

Landed in Tent City ( ANCHORAGE ) on saturday mid day, headed over to the hotel, and walked around donwtown Anchorage. The city is not as we as we thought, the downtown area is just a couple of big streets. The first thing we did was eat at Phillips, she had the Salmon Burger ( it was good ) I had the Hulibut Burger, it was bad, Had no favor at all. We visited a couple of restaurants / bars in the downtown area, this area is very difficut to find good food, unless you want to eat burgers & more burgers. 2 night we went to Humphys for dinner, the food was great, once again restaurant / bar. The downtown mall, we it is just a mall, we did not visit, we visited the downtown ... read more

Finally made to Alaska, Sum & I had a blast in AK, we Traveled on the Alaska train south to Whittier to catch the 26 glacier tour on board the Klondike. This ship is fast & cool, but we were there for the glaciers. This was a unique experience for us, we had never been to AK, and never seen a glacier upclose. Sum, had a blast as did I, we will return to AK soon, and glaciers are amazing, the air smell so fresh, the water was blue in Whittier, Whittier is a small town, it hos some little shops, but that is about it. I will let the picture do the narration for the glaciers.... read more
