8 Months SO sorry for not having any update for about 4 months, MY BAD, ill give you the update now. though I have a feeling something is going to get missed. Okay, so my birthday was December 10th, and it was pretty good. We had a “traditional” Danish birthday with rolls, random snack foods and hot chocolate. I learned its more of a traditional children’s birthday but it was still nice, having my friends over, then we had a big dinner with my family, and My counselor Henriks family, it was really nice and overall a good birthday. The Next day, Friday, I went to Hjørring to see my best friend Juan. He’s an exchange student from Florida, and decided to help me celebrate my birthday. It was a good weekend. Wow, its so hard to even begin to believe that my trip started 4 months ago. Its shocking to me that time has gone by so fast. So much has happened since I last posted anything. Its been a month and a half so obviously. Well the Holbæk get together was so so soooo much fun. Just a weekend of hanging out with the exchangies was what I needed after my dad left. Like I’ve said before, exchange students are like family, or friends you have known forever. We had a little Halloween party and every one was so dressed up, unfortunately I left my camera at home, so I’ve stolen a few pictures from the other exchange students. 2 months I’ve officially been here for 8 weeks. And it’s still as crazy as it has been. Danish is getting better, but I still can’t understand a normal conversation. Nothing too exciting has happened since the last time you heard from me. I hurt my shoulder due to public transportation and a hockey bag, which isn’t even a cool reason; I have to call the doctors today to see what the results of my x-rays are, so I guess we will see. Which brings me to the point, of I’m not playing hockey anymore this year because my schedule is way way too busy for it. I’m busy all the time and it never ends. So I have been here for a month, and so far so good. Not much has changed, I still don’t know Danish, but I did go to camp, whish was pretty cool. It was a week long, and there were 150 exchange students there, from all over the world. It was pretty intense to experience like 10 different cultures, but also in like 100 different ways. Ever exchange student is so different and has such a different view on things. But basically were all the same because were going through the same things. I met some people ill probably be friends with not only the whole time I’m here but long after that! During camp we did 6 hours of Danish a day, for 4 days. So I have been here for 2 weeks. A little longer. And it’s still amazing and so surreal. I have experienced some home sickness and I do miss everyone so so much. But once school started it made everything so much easier. Life here is so easy. So normal, and I’m already a part of the family I’m with, who I have to leave in 2 weeks. But I’m up for the challenges that face me. So as for what’s been going on, the biggest would have to be that school started! I’m in second year which is WAY cool because all the other exchange students in my school (3 others) are in first year, but apparently I was too clever. So I’ve been here for almost an entire week. No actually it has been a week. So far I absolutely LOVE it. Denmark is like a fairytale. It’s green and so far, been sunny since I arrived. My travel experience wasn’t bad. I got on the plane in ABQ at 12:56 pm it was a full flight to Chicago. Once I was in Chicago, I got off the plane and was immediately lost. I’ve never flown into Chicago and had no idea the airport was so big! So I walked around terminal 1 for like 20 minutes until I finally asked for help, then I had to get on a train and go to the international terminal.
