romance writing are you on a kind of book writing journey, drew? this virtual personal diary might become a collection of memories perfectly matching a mosaic of synapses as memories move in the gaps of the mind... entering black holes and scaping freely and transmuting. nice move! beijoS
The Beatles - Across The Universe Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
That call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they
Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open views inviting and inciting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, it calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

love to hear from you.
peace be with you and everyone you meet, then blessings follow.
welcome home You are realizing the power of drifting. Next time you venture to the clear pond, forget the label and visit the pond. Forget the birds and float in the song of the trees. The sausage is the best when it has no "better version" to coexist with. The fusion of freedom and the need to escape, the conscious effort to go "into nature"..it can be a kaleidoscope of misery. The natural world you best describe is the forest of Duane Reads and Rite Aids, sanctuary for misplaced members of scattered tribes trying desperately to find their way home.
great trip, dru! dont ever let your skin forget that, dru. universe is thoughtful, cloudy, torrential, astronomomic, wavy, dreadful, dreamfull, musical bla bla bla around and inside of us. beautiful trip you had, dear... beijos
Amazing I am remembering the day - sometime in the middle of June- when you and I walked for 1 1/2 miles, with your backpack on your back, in Nontron, so you could "try it out". You were deciding then, how you wanted to spend your weeks in Europe...you wanted to do the camino but you were suren't sure. It is absolutely unbelieveable that you have been walking for a month... You did it! The blogs have been amazing and yet there are surely so many more stories and thoughts yet to surface. I hope I get a glimpse of some of it along the way, during the days and weeks and months ahead. An easy re-entry to you- one day at a time, one moment at a time, one step at a time.
Much love,
Mom
the experience beyond the words no words can truly describe a flower. no moment can really equal the present, of the present, when being present.
thank yourself Drew for allowing yourself to take the time to... walk. :) and sleep. and see and smell and talk and touch and wonder. and wander about. lots of love. the big apple awaits a bite. peace :)
thanks brian that´s nice to hear. I´m not interested in being swallowed whole anymore. Not by romance, not by art, not by ideas, not by anything......
I prefer the middle path these days.
hope you are well. just finished the walk today. just kind of walked in to Santiago de Compostela. Relaxed, healthy feet, simple mind, simple spirit.
drew
cool cool man. thanks for the info and references. Yes the self group torment, the fertile springs of the compostela pilgrimage, and the link to Hemingway, so good to hear. Interesting. I´m envious of my journey as well. The thing is starting to echo off of the end, I can hear Compostela, see dates on calendars, recall the life at home....hoping the bridge will be secure and strong.
be well, keep driving on and letting the music have you

Lay Me Down Drew,
Had a great time reading this from my home here in NY. I'm in the midst of a five week course in PA but I drive the six hours home on the weekend because of the same self/group conflict you get at in here.
I have read from Hemingway so much of the Compostela pilgrimage that I envy your journey. (Do you know that the Compostela pilgrimage is the root of The Sun Also Rises?) Hem called Compostela his office.
I have come across a film that I think you will really like: 180 South. I think it is the Endless Summer of our time. Have you seen Endless Summer? It is a must see!

Isaac Brock does most of the soundtrack to 180 South as Ugly Casanova.
I thought of this song as I read your blog and looked at your pictures.

what are you doing for your vacation weeks
any news?
breathing hey there walking brother....i recently read this, randomly, and thought of you and your beautiful writings here.....keep walking....from your other brother:
(as quoted)
'In such circumstances the mind is influenced through the body. Though your
mouth glows, and your skin is parched, yet you feel no languor,- the effect of
dry heat; your lungs are lightened, your sight brightens, your memory recovers
its tone, and your spirits become exuberant. Your fancy and imagination are
powerfully aroused, and the wildness and siblimity of the scenes around you,
stir up all the energies in your soul, whether exertion, danger, or strife.
Your morale improves; you become frank and cordial, hospitable and
single-minded; the hypocritical politeness and the slavery of Civilization are
left behind you. Your senses are quickened; they require no stimulants but air
and exercise; in the desert spriritous liquors excite only disgust.
There is a keen enjoyment in mere animal existence. The sharp appetite disposes
of the most indigestible food; the sand is softer than a bed of down, and the
purity of the air suddenly puts flight a dire cohort of diseases.
Here Nature returns to Man, however unworthily he has treated her, and, believe
me, when once your tastes have conformed to the tranquility of such travel, you
will suffer real pain in returning to the turmoil of civilization. You will
anticipate the bustle and confusion of artificial life, its luxuries and its
false pleasures, with repugnance. Depressed in spirits, you will for a time
after your return feel incapable of mental or bodily exertion. The air of the
Cities will suffocate you, and the careworn and cadaverous countenances of
citizens will haunt you like a vision of judgement.'

hi Robin.
Yes I´m sure you are.
I have seen many old timers walking the walk...hahahah. No seriously there are dudes in their 70´s.
amazing.
after all it´s just walking.
take care and glad to know you´re reading along.
drew
good to hear from you Brad, and that you are keeping up the good work. the fire is lit and glowing strong. It´s been interesting to walk this path, to see all of the Catholic symbology, and the varying reasons for which people do the walk. From strictly religious, to cultural, to sport, to more personally spiritual. Everyone has been quite open and ready to exchange.
peace!
drew
