A brand new stadium the size of a postage stamp. Big scores here for sure! This is the view from our seats amongst the die hard Scottish!
Our first match of the World Cup 2007. Sensational - surrounded by Scots and rained out for parts but a truly joyful experience. Ilove cricket and I love the Caribbean! Photos and details to come. Cheers Bec [View Full Entry]

Rain!?!?!
Rain!?!?!
Our first night in the Caribbean and we are welcomed by the biggest downpour ever. Streets were flooded, canals burst their banks and we got drenched. Luckily we were wearing our sandals and thongs!
Rain. Great, dirty, big drops of the stuff. Flooding streets and a freaking bloody expensive dinner at a roadside, beach side diner. Now we understand why we can't go to SA... Photos and details to come. [View Full Entry]

Entrance to El Yunque National Park
These two ladies we met on our tour. Kofi and Lindsay, from the US. Great people that made the day even more worthwhile.
blogger Dougo A sensational day that enters into the Top 5 of Trip Experiences! Today we were picked up early (9:30am is early for us!) and went on a tour of the El Yunque Rainforest and finished with one of the most amozing things ever. Raphael was our guide, a local Peurto Rican who always had a story to tell and a piece of advice about life to give. We picked up 8 others before we headed up to the rainforest. All American. All girls. This didnt really bother me that much being an elementary teacher and and having gone [View Full Entry]

Blogger Bec Well, today was a difficult day. We woke excited about the prospect of a day testing out our new snorkelling gear in Playa Del Carmen, but after our morning email check, that prospect went completely out the window! Sitting like a little bomb in my inbox was the news that our South America trip was cancelled due to "insufficient interest". However, there were other tours that we could take that would work into the dates we had planned. Unfortunetly, these trips required us to fork out more cash... Very, very disappointing and translated into a day of utter [View Full Entry]

Washed away sand
Washed away sand
This shows just how bad the hurricane was - all that is left of the beach in most places is a shelf of sand.
Blogger Bec Thought we{d better check out what all the fuss was about - boy, what a spectacle this whole spring break business is! Check out the videos for a tiny, wheeny snippet of the beach action! Go you good things!! If I was back in my uni days, I would be RIGHT HERE making a nuisance of myself. Sadly, I now have Grandmother tendencies and simply walk past all the very scantily clad young lasses, shaking my head wistfully, thinking of the days when my boobs sat as high as that. (Christ, and I'm only 27, what the HELL is [View Full Entry]

Blogger Bec After making a deal in order to get a raspberry yoghurt Magnum without having to get off the couch, you all have to put up with my ramblings on the blog for the next 3 entries! ( I also had to do the washing up AND buy Dougo a beer, plus open it AND curtsey!!!) Though, admittedly, I haven't been pulling my respective blogging weight so I guess I better have a crack. The weather hasn't been great over the past few days, overcast and very windy so we've mostly been mooching around the shops of downtown Cancun, god [View Full Entry]

BEHOLD the TICKETS
BEHOLD the TICKETS
Our magical, wonderful tickets in our possession for the first time. 3 Group matches, 4 Super 8 games and the Semi in Jamaica.
Visited Countries Map Blogger Dougo For those of you who don't know, Bec and I are heading the Cricket World Cup next week in the Caribbean for the next leg of our trip. We are very lucky and have procured tickets to 8 games including a Semi Final as well as accomdodation and flights to get to the games (a big issue with so many people in such locations). We bought the tickets in May and September last year and were told they would be delivered two weeks prior to the event starting. Well because we didnt know where exactly we [View Full Entry]

Stelae, Coba Ruins, Mexico
This stelae is arguably the most important ever found. It records the beginning and the end of mayan civilisation in the area.
Itīs a bird, it's a plane, it's a bat? No, it's just us jumping off cliffs into cenotes! Blogger Doug Today we had trouble getting hold of Ben again. We had the correct number but he wasnt aswering his phone. Then the bloody public phones wouldnt work or would only take American coins. AMERICAN COINS? What country are we in again? Anyway, we got hold of him and we made our way to the oldest ruins site in the Yucatan Pennisula, Coba. It was hot, really hot so we elected to pay 30 pesos to hire a bike. I love bike [View Full Entry]
