Yesterday we arrived in Hanoi where the weather isnt as nice as it has been down south, apparantly a typhoon is passing through. After checking into our hotel called The Hanoi Club & Palais Residences which is really nice we headed out into crazy Hanoi. The streets are mental here and can suck you up in a heartbeat, there is just no logic to the place with streets everywhere and shops everywhere. We firstly went to a travel agency ODC Travel which were great and booked our tour to Halong Bay. We have a 5 hour bus ride tomorrow to get to the bay then we head out on a junk boat where we will stay overnight on the boat then we head to Cat Ba Island and stay at a resort. We are a little ... read more

We headed for the beach after checking into the Novotel, the room is the best and we got upgraded to the deluxe room with ocean views. That last hotel looks like a mud pit compared to this hotel, we were very happy with it and the service matched. Once at the beach we baked for a while then decided to go for a little parasail which was alot of fun but didn't go long enough. It was very funny because they just hooked us up, no saftey checks just two clips and away we went. The weather turned quite bad in the afternoon so we headed back to the hotel where we used the gym and prepared ourselves for dinner. We went to our trusty Italian for dinner again where the food did not disappoint. We ... read more

Today we woke up to yet another nice day although there were a few clouds on the horizon with a possible chance of rain. We decided today was the day we would treat ourselves and head to the mud baths of Nha Trang. We firstly headed out for breakfast which wasnt anything exciting and we havent found anywhere that looks good for breakfast. We ate at some little place then we walked to go get a cab and walked past a place that looks great for breakfast....we will head there tomorow, its very hard just to get bacon and eggs on toast without something weird coming out on the plate like cucumber or soy sauce or just something in general. So we got a cab through the back streets of Nha Trang which were really grose ... read more

We left Mui Ne and travelled by a sleeper bus which was 3 rows of reclined seats with two layers in each row, no air conditioning and about 42 people on board. This was the bus ride from hell, the bus was that bad Kimberly nearly got off before it had even moved. After I talked Kimberly into it we set off on the 6 hour trek to Nha Trang. We arrived in Nha Trang around 8pm where we travelled to our hotel which was called the HQ Apartments and ownded by a very helpful australian guy who gave us advice on where to eat and bars to visit. It was really nice to not hvae to repeat yourself two or three times when we spoke. We went to an Italian place for dinner called De ... read more

So you can see from the first few pictures we were pretty excited/ tired to head to this little place Mui Ne which is now somewhere we will remember forever as it marks a special place for us. We jumped on the orange bus from De Tham Street (Pham Ngu Lao area- lots of westerner's in this area not far from Sinh Cafe for anyone interested in travelling with a good, clean and reliable bus company. The name of the company is called Phuong Trang) that we had booked the day before for $4. We had our seats right up the front and we were the only non- vietnamese on the bus, therefore the only downfall was no one spoke engrish and we had to watch vietnamese dvd's...nothing the iPod couldn't fix. The journey took 6 ... read more

Today we woke up to another hot morning but pleasant in this lovely city. Downstairs for a 10am breakfast, Adam gave the fried rice a go before realising it was seafood whilst I played it safe with an egg on toast. We got ready to head to the War Remnants Museum not far from where we are staying in district 1. The museum was a little touching for me at times as they certainly didn't hide anything and we saw many dead bodies in the photos. Pretty crazy what the gas Agent Orange did to millions of Vietnamese and others, there was even a few foetus's that they have preserved that had two heads and mongy faces......pretty hectic!! Was cool to see all the big bombers and the massive guns and bazooka's. We then took on ... read more

Well its 3:00am and we have just been out in Saigon for the first time and it was the best! We arrived in Saigon at around 5:30pm and from the plane we grabbed a cab which took approximately 15 to the hotel door. On arrival we weren't really sure what the accomodation would be like but it looks like we are kicking goals at the Sanouva Hotel because the bed is softer than the last and we have already met some really nice people. From the Hotel we ventured out to see the sights which were outstanding, the people, food and good vibe that we received from Vietnam was the best!! We went out for a quick drink at the Australian Bar called the Blue Gecko where we met a nice old Aussie guy who gave ... read more

So we missed a days worth of blogging due to exhaustion and a well deserved drink. After me being bed ridden all friday I finally got over my 24 hr food poisoning episode which was horrible but done with now. Saturday morning Adam strapped his barely skinned hands with his wraps to go take on Chok Chai for the last time. 10.30 am 35oC I made my way down to see what he had been doing all this time and wanted to get some good pictures on my SLR. I arrived to see Adam dripping with sweat and Chok Chai copping about as much of it in his face as he smashed his way around the ring. From what I saw Chok Chai had obviously taught Adam some great techniques in boxing that he looked super ... read more

8:00am start for Kimberly today with a body fit class, from what I've (Adam) been told it was more a strength session today for the girls. This involved push ups, burpees, planking (not the ironing board style Gen) and use of equipment such as kettle bells and dumbells. I had the chance to have another sleep in with my one on one session with Chok chai starting at 10:30am. It was pouring with rain which I quite enjoyed as we were undercover and the rain cools the air down. I met Kimberly back at the hotel after the session where I had planned to have lunch with her but it looks like she has come down with a mild case of food poisoning so she has been resting for the majority of the afternoon and evening. ... read more

8am start for me today whilst Adam had a well deserved snooze in. I ventured out to the beach today for my body fit class. 18 of us packed into mini van with 8 big tires and ropes, it was a very hot day today with the sun beaming and probably about 35oC at 8am. We got to our destination about 15 mins from the camp and arrived at a set of stairs from here I knew I was in trouble and was getting a little nervous as I was still so sore from training on the previous days. I did not know how I was going to do this! First exercise was carrying a tire above your head and running up two flights of stairs then at the top 10 squats then repeating that 10 ... read more
