Greetings Hello, I stumbled upon this page from a Facebook group I'm a part of "Afromexico." I was surprised when I saw your name because I'm a researcher who recently went to the coast, and I stayed with Luci. She told me about you and I thought I would say hello. These photos are wonderful. I miss the tortillas. Salud!

Natures Beauty It appears peaceful there. No matter where you may go there is beauty to be found and enjoyed. The children's art as well as the beauty in the people that surrounded you while you were there. Ready to return?
Primero Díos This is a common expression in the mexican culture which essential means " to put God first in the situation". This is what I am doing. For me it means waiting to see if God is ready for me to return. Whenever He is ready, then I am ready. Love you, Donzetta
Love the photos! Great pics! Now I see what you mean about "free range!" - funny to see them in the trees, I've never seen yard birds do that. I'm sure the food down there was fresh in every sense of the word! :-)
LOVIN IT!!! Oh, these are absolutely WONDERFUL Donzetta!!! I just love the way you put descriptions under each of your photos!! I know it takes time, but it really makes a difference. And go 'head with you showing off your Spanish! I'm so glad we met!! I've shared this in my facebook group you know!! :-)
Hi Lovenia You might share in Facebook that I have contact information for E-Costa, the organization for which I volunteered, and also for some of the Afro-Mexicans in the area. The people are very open to visitors who may simply want to make their acquaintance and of course to any who may want to do volunteer work or help in other ways. Luci is very proud of her mixed heritage and culture and wants to share them. Donzetta
ODECO...La Ceiba, Honduras Headed next week with Dr. Rodger Randle from OU to explore ways we can help this organization devoted to striving for the integral development of Afro-descendant communities in Central America thus contributing to the construction of dignity among populations of African descent. I'll let you know how the trip goes!
Great to hear from you! Daniel, It is great to hear that this project is going forward. From what I have seen in Oaxaca, the afro-latino community has been sorely neglected since slavery times. I am learning to be grateful to have been a descendent of the 3% Africans who came to the English speaking country rather than the 97% who went to the Hispanic countries. They don't appear to have fared very well. Donzetta
Entonces fui a Albaquerque for a reunion familiar de mi amiga. Estoy considerando cuando vaya a regresar a CC. Disfrutaba mucho mi experiencia en Oaxaca. Espero verte pronto. Donzetta
I'm so glad that you enjoyed the pictures I am so glad to know that you are moving to Oaxaca. I think that it is a wonderful place and there are a lot of ex-pats here. I will e-mail you. Donzetta
Thanks for posting the wonderful pics! I love your pics and how you give an explanation of each one... as I will be moving to Oaxaca soon, I find them very helpful. I would love to connect with you via email so that perhaps we can meet up after I arrive.
My most recent trip was to Cuba this spring. I shared a few photos, but I did not have time to share more. I am now at a point that I can share more. I am changing my profile to show that I am not at the present time traveling in Oaxaca. Hopefully, this update is clear.... full info
