My favourite holiday was to Germany for Christmas in 2007, I am now getting ready to back pack around Nepal and India with Mum

Mysore and Kerala

Mum and I left Mumbai after several hours catching a train to Bangalore and then to Mysore. In Mysore we visit the city Palace, the Palace was very big, but we werent allowed to take pictures inside. It was coolest at night time when the lights were on. When we were in Mysore we also took a horse and cart ride, I was allowed to steer like the camel. After Mysore we caught a bus to Kerala, where we met Jonathan, we all caught a rickshaw to the beech, it was a good day, I got very sunburnt though. Terror in Mumbai

Today Mum and I arrived by overnight train from Jodphur to Mumbai. When we arrived in Mumbai we were with a french lady, while we were organising our tickets at central station, the French lady recieved a message on her phone to say there had been bombings in Mumbai, we then spoke to some other tourists that told us about the terror attacks, with one large attack happening less than 12hours before at the very same station that we were then at, there had been blasts and shootings, we saw how the guns bullets shot the windows in a cafe at the train station, and it was all shut down, a few places only were open. Rajasthan - The Desert State

On the 20th of November Mum and I took a train to Jaipur, in the desert state of Rajasthan, while we were in Jaipur Mum was very sick. Jaipur is the pink city of Rajasthan, while we were there I got to feed monkeys with my hands. On the 21st of November we caught an overnight train to Jaisalmer, which is the golden city. We visit the fort, which is the oldest living fort in the world, with 20,000 people living inside. At the fort we took an audio tour of the palace. Taj Mahal, New Dehli

We caught an overnight train with our American friend, Jonathan to Agra on November 16th, arriving on the 17th. When we were in Agra we saw the Taj Mahal, we got up early in the morning to visit the Taj Mahal, in the afternoon we caught a train to Dehli, the capital city of India. In Dehli we saw one of Mum's friends who was visiting his family in Dehli, he drove us around to show us the sights of Dehli, including the lotus temple, the gateway of India and a few other sights. When we were in Dehli Mum let me have McDonalds, it is different than Australia as there is only chicken or vegetable items on the menu, there was new shake, shake fries, and the happy meals only had chicken burgers.... read more



Varanasi - Life on the Ganges

We arrived in India overland on the 13th of November, we caught a bus to Gorekpore, and then an overnight train to Varanasi. Varanasi is a holy place for Hindu people, the river ganges is to them the most holy in the world, they bath here, was their clothes, pray here, and burn their dead. While we were there we stayed right near the river, with ganges views from our rooftop restaurant, while we were eating and hanging out there we saw many monkeys on the roof tops of other buildings. While we were in Varanasi we saw the main burning ghat which was the next ghat along from our guesthouse. Here they burn bodies 24 hours a day, there lots of bodies burning there. Jungle Safari

We caught a bus on the 11th of November to Chitwan Nation Park, while we were there we did a few activities. It was a bit like school camp, we stayed in a resort where we had a timetable of activities, including our eating times, where every one at the same thing. One activity we did was an elephant safari in the National Park, we saw birds, monkeys, rhinos, deer, and crocodiles, crossing the river. We also did a canoe trip down the river, there was two sorts of crocodiles, there was the long nose and the marsh mugger, the marsh mugger would eat anything, and the long nose was a vegetarian. Treking in Nepal

On Wednesday Mum and I arrived in Pohara, we saw lots of mountains when we arrived. Thursday - Day 1 of Trek We went on a bus to get to the start of the trek, to go to Poon Hill. The first day was 4 hours and it wasn't too hard. Day 2 Trek Day two was a very hard day, we took lots of stops, and got there later, it took us 7 hours to get to Ghorepani, where we stayed the night. Day 3 - Trek We had to get up early in the morning, before sunrise to see the sun rise at Poon Hill. I was very sick that day, so the Porter carried me up to the top of Poon Hill. Kathmandu and Patan

Yesterday Mum and I arrived in Kathmandu, we saw the mountains as we were flying here. There is lots of people here, and cows on the streets. Mum and I walked around yesterday and visit Durbar Square. Today we had a tour, we went to a few temples, and to Patan to see Patan's Durbar square, I liked it better than Durbar Square in Kathmandu. We went to a temple up above Kathmandu it is best known as the Monkey Temple, I saw lots of monkeys, and Mum was scared. Singapore

Day 1 We had a walk around Singapore. Day 2 We looked around we walked around the area. We saw the Merlion, which is the symbol of Singapore. We also saw Raffles Hotel, a very famous hotel in Singapore. We saw Judy and her nephew, they took us to the harbour front shopping centre. In the evening we saw the Buddha tooth temple, a famous buddhist temple in Singapore, it was very big, and inside was very gold.
