Day 5 Today we left Eureka and headed up out of California and into Oregon. Really pretty country but foggy the entire day so not many photo ops. We lunched in a fishing port called Crescent City, nice clam chowder. We also stopped at a site called Prehistoric Gardens, a bit of a tourist trap but a nice chance to stretch our legs. We are now about 850 miles north of LA and have driven around 600 miles. We are in the City of Florence, another fishing port and due to the fog not many photo ops. Well we are underway. We left Friday and overnighted in Auckland Saturday night. Had a good feed at the Angus and headed off to Fiji Sunday afternoon. We arrived in Fiji and spent seven hours in the airport in transit. Ngae flew in from Christchurch and met up with us here so we are now all assembled and underway. 10 hours later we arrived in Los Angeles and are currently in an airport area hotel until extremely early tomorrow when we fly to San Francisco to uplift our rental car and then we are really underway. I might mention that Tom has had special attention boarding twice so far, Shirley has been pulled out three times and so far all I have managed is an upgrade from Raro to Akl. No photo’s really yet.
