DAVE SIMMS Well a few years must have gone by as Dave Simms was the person who inspired me to become a dive instructor. In true Dave style, he was talking to the girl that I was travelling with at the time, and in true Dave style she was not listening. I, on the other hand was. 15 years later, I have a healthy overdraft, five dogs, four landrovers (2 working) a wife and a dive centre.
I think Dave would be proud of me.
Sadness about Dave It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since you told us that Sarge had died. I know that he was an asset to the dive operation up there and that he is missed. And he was a good pal.
Good newsletter Hi Greg,
Thanks for copying us. Looks great! Just got back from a Yap visit and had a great time. 3 of the 4 kids were there, so we got to see almost everyone.

I need a ticket to Raro now! Greg you old so and so, this is excellent. Even I want to go back to Raro now. I have a DM here who came from Raro (the long way round, she is an aussie- can't be helped) and when I tell here about raro news we'll both want to be heading back!
I look forward to the next installment, and one small thing. My new email is raf@kayakpemba.com the superonline bit died a long time ago!
Cheers
Raf
Welcome back! Glad to see you back online. A great way to keep in touch, aside from tacky jokes. Kevin and I hope to get up to see you in the year...no real overseas trips planned for us until 2009. Keep the room available! Hope to see you soon!
Farewell to the Happy Travellers We loved being a part of your adventures via the beloved Blog!! Sounds like you had a fantastic trip! We had our first big snow fall on Oct. 11 - huge fluffy flakes falling straight down - you would have loved it Greg!! The deer are now eating out of my hand and the cheeky things are now helping themselves to apples out of the tool shed if we forget and leave the door open. See you in January!!
A very good read. Hi Greg,
Never met and am Ngaio's brother.
Thanks so much for the amazing account of your travels, enjoyed the small comments, and as much as you seemed to be on the move all the time, you made moments for reflection.
Where to next, Russia, China, or Sth America?
Looking forward to your next trip, write a book, do a travel doco!!
Most presenters are young and bullet proof, and so many travelers are middle aged. Just a thought.
Thanks again,
Tonk.
God speed Short one Hey Greg,
I am writing this to you from my freind's house 7 miles from Tintern Abbey. I was just telling him about you tonight. Strange that now you send the blog through!
God speed and so sorry to hear about the end of the trip.
Please post some YAP stories for us. Take care buddy and thanks for entertaining us with your adventures.
I wish you Gods speed (Especially if you fly Qantas!)
Raf
Dunromin Hi All.
Hope that you all made it in one piece to Yap. We are really green with envy and wish that we could be there with you.
Sorry that we won't be diving with you on the Pindito and hope that we can all meet up again sometime, maybe in Yap. I've heard that the beer isn't too bad.
Best wishes
Pat and Paul
Round the world Way to go guys, Norway to China, what a contast!
Everyday has me logging on from a small island in Tanzania to see what mischeif you are getting up to next!
I bet you had a few beers in Schipol!
Beijing's air looks filthy!
Cheers from the beach.
Raf

Birthdays Dear Greg, Happy birthday. I am just writing you an email about diving and dave simms. Your blog inspires me to visit many of the countries that you have been to. Amazing stuff, keep up the good work and for heavens sake make prints of all the digital images so that you do not loose them.
All the best from Pemba...

Hi from NZ Hey Greg,

Happy Birthday Dear Gregory,
This is actually our second attempt at this since the first birthday wishes didn't appear to make it. We have been following your trip and think it's time for you and the gang to get out of the North and get back to the Equator where it's warm. We are ready for you and Fredy has laid in a reserve stock of Manta Piss. Happy 29th and see you next week.
And who won? Hey Greg, you are telling us all about the footy live and in the pub ... but you completely forgot to tell us if the Kiwis won. We are sitting on edge, have sleepless nights .... not knowing. Glad you are all having a great time. We will be on our way on Sunday to good ol' Raro. Cheers.
Public Buses Amazing stuff Greg, I found your comment about public buses quite poignant. "Excepting airport shuttles, your first trip on a public bus since the early 70's.!" I wonder how many of us who live on small islands take buses? Strange old world. Must go, off diving. Raf
mum just curious who was brave enough to go for a ride with mum in the corvette especially at 205kmh. sounds like your having fun. Your dog has not topped itself from depression yet!
love you the whanau.
110/220? Kevin's solution to your problem is lots of transformers!!!! Glad to hear you are having so much fun, and seeing such a gorgeous part of the country. 9 Weeks? What will you do when it gets cold? - Have fun - Caroline and Kevin Pyne
