We docked this morning (Wednesday) at Raiatea, the first of the French Polyneasian islands we'll visit. Tomorrow is a stop at Bora Bora (think "South Pacific") where we will stay overnight at one of their famous resorts with thatch roofed huts over the water where the room service breakfast arrives on a canoe. This is something we heard about last year when we were here, and we wanted to try it out this time. These little islands are fabulously beautiful, each one surrounded by coral reefs so ugly things like tsunamis can't get through. The French own these islands, and they [View Full Entry]

Hi all, Well, finally we’ll mention the news from Honolulu - now that the snailmail announcements have gone out and the cat is out of the bag! Dick and I were married in Honolulu last Thursday, Jan. 20 in Judge Reynaldo Graulty’s chambers. We have been planning this for several weeks, just a quiet wedding during our one day in Honolulu that didn’t involve a lot of fuss and bother. The agencies we contacted wanted to set up a flossy wedding complete with digging our toes in the beach sand at sunset with champagne and cake afterwards - exactly what we [View Full Entry]

It well become more dificult to write these Blogs when we have sea days. We have lots to do but few new pictures. This is our second sea day out of four before we get to Tahiti. There are 44 ports in 101 days. Some of the ports we stay in more than one day. We are signed up for six overland tours which last from one to four days (leave ship in one port and rejoin ship in some cases three to four days latter in another port. The whole Trip can be seen at www.crystalcruses.com. Dick [View Full Entry]

On our day in Honolulu we had lunch at very nice country club. We started with raw Fish, Tuna and Octopus. The Octopus was very tough. Next was a salad followed by a fish course and then desert. There was lots of Hawaiian music and a beauaful setting. We returned the 10 miles to the city and were dropped off at the Art Academe .We returned to the ship at about 4:30. There were other Events which ocurred that we will talk about in a few days. Dick [View Full Entry]

Hi all, This is our last full day at sea before we dock in Honolulu tomorrow (Thursday). Quiet and restful, except for the sea which was a bit rough, though not as much as yesterday. Nobody is seasick so far as we know, probably because of the stabilizers on the ship. These are big "wings" that stick out on each side of the ship below the water line, that keep it from rolling from side to side. We can feel the ship plowing into big waves but it's just up-and-down with no rolling, which is probably what makes for sea sickness. [View Full Entry]

HI ALL, We're on our way! We left Greenville early yesterday (Friday) morning for Atlanta, expecting to make a 10:30 flight to LA. Delta canceled that flight without warning (par for the course for poor ol' Delta) so after much squeaking of the wheel by Dick we got another flight that put us in LA about 5:00 PST. Along with our luggage, thank goodness! Then the guardian angels from Crystal Cruise Line took over and all was well. Three of them were waiting anxiously for us in the luggage area. We were whisked by limosine out to the Beverly Hills Hotel, [View Full Entry]
