December 22nd 2011

It was a great time, and i really miss every single one of you, you were amazing to me at the trip, no matter where i met you, Germany, France, Amsterdam or the UK. You all stole my heart, and i am not only a Monkey Junkie... but i am now also a Monkey Junkie Junkie! Just because I can. Stay awesome, keep blaming it on Jackson, and i am sure we meet again in the nearby future. And if there is no 100 Monkeys EU tour anytime next year, we will still find our way to a MASSIVE meet up. Monica, thank you so much for doing this whole trip with me, you were amazing, and i am happy I could do this with you. and I don't think i could have done this with ... read more

Diary of a groupie
December 16th 2011

Today is the day of the end of tour party, and I am not quite as nervous as i thought i would be. Early up for some breakfast with Joanne, Lorna and Karin, because Joanne and Lorna have to head back to Scotland today. After breakfast a long nap before getting ready for today. Mich is joining me to the end of tour party, as my elf, while i'll be dressed as Mrs Santa. I told Ben about this plan the day before, so there is no backing out now, thought that thought crossed my mind a few times. We promised to meet Mich at 3, somewhere near the pub where the party would be. A coffee and some nervous chatting later, and it's time for Mich, Karin, Monica and me to head to Lord Wolseley, ... read more

December 15th 2011

Today is London day, we ended up on the coach with 13 of us, but most of us must have been tired from the Birmingham show, because it was very quite, more quite than I expected it to be. I was still recovering from my cold, and minding my own business. The journals were shared and people wrote/read in it. With a little delay we arrived at Victoria coach station, and we had to take the underground from there to Kings Cross. We were not the only travellers going that direction, so we all hooked up. After a short stop for a Money box for Twilla, the travel continued. We arrived at our hotel a little before 2 and a quick shower was a must. Of course our hotel room did not have warm water at ... read more

December 13th 2011

Some funny things happen when you are all traveling on low budget, and from and to the same place. Jen, Ellie, Sarah, Monica and me ended up in the same coach from Manchester to Birmingham, which was obviously a lot of fun. Unfortunately I got sick a few days before the UK dates, and i was not fully recovered, but i got a bit better after a red bull and a great gas station which offered a hand job for only 5 pounds. And THAT'S why i love the UK so much. The travel from Manchester to Birmingham was pretty much fun, the toilet was rather small, but fresh aired, thanks to the little hole in the floor, and the laughs were great, I think i even slept for a short while. When we got out ... read more

December 12th 2011

After a short afternoon/night at home, and saying goodbye to Hannah, we headed to the airport at 7am. Check in, hanging around and killed some time at the airport till it was time to board. I insisted on sitting close to the wing, and yes, most monkey junkies know why. Of course, not shortly after take off, Monica and I started singing wings on fire. (I know, don't jinx it, but i just couldn't resist myself) We arrived at Manchester airport, a little over an hour later. The coach was easy found, but i booked it two hours later, just to make sure everything was okay. Luckily we could change our departure time to 11 instead of 1pm, and we boarded. It was good to finally be able to enjoy the view outside and not have ... read more

Diary of a groupie
December 10th 2011

Today was the day we went to Lille, we decided to go out a little later than planned, because of the late night before. We left home at 10am, and had the idea of being in Lille at 2pm, but obviously many many cars decided they had to go to Lille today, so we got stuck in a traffic jam, the clock hands began to irritate me, when we were creeping closer to 2pm without being even close. when we finally arrived in Lille, we had to find the hotel. The only thing i remembered what something "Grand Palais" which we found easily, but turned out to be a huge center, but not a hotel. After looking it up, we found it and we had to rush to get dressed and ready, because this night was ... read more

December 9th 2011

FINALLY the day that the band had to play in my home town. We arrived in Amsterdam a little before two, went to the hotel and checked in. This hotel is the most awesome hotel in all Amsterdam, it had stages for beds and drums as lights on the ceiling. I had to 'fake' perform on the bed and get my pictures taken, just for fun. after getting ready, it was time to 'explore' the town, basically just going to the starbucks, buy a coffee, smoke a lot and hang out around Leidseplein. When we got too cold we went to Dan's pub, across the venue and had a HUGE beer. We had to be at the venue at 4.30 because Hannah and me had a meet & greet (Thank you Nora and Cindy) Because i ... read more

Diary of a groupie
December 8th 2011

Today was the first day we made it on time to the city we were supposed to be. No stress and no 'right on time' moments, we arrived in Cologne at noon, and took a walk around town to find some food. We found some girls already standing at the venue. Not what we were planning in any way. Apperently we went the wrong direction, because where we were, was no food or cafe to find. Finally we bought some coffee and a sandwich at a train station, and tried to find the other part of Cologne, to find a good place to sit, till we could actually head to the venue. After a short walk, and a view of the tourbus, we found a nice little cafe, and we sat outside next to the heaters ... read more

Diary of a groupie
December 3rd 2011

Today was the day that I feared the most, Driving to Paris, but with no clear address of airport Charles de Gaulle with us. We planned to drive the car to the airport, outside Paris and take the train to the hotel. But things went different than planned, the GPS couldn't find any address, not even the airport itself, so we added the address of the hotel to it, and hoped for seeing signs of Charles de Gaulle airport when we're close, Apparently we entered from the wrong side, because there were no signs to find. So eventually i decided just to get rid of my fear of driving in crowded cities, and just drive straight through Paris. I heard everyone complaining about the scary roundabouts and the mad driving skills of the French men.. they ... read more

Diary of a groupie
December 2nd 2011

Today was a drive of hell to Frankfurt, I never drove in the mountains before, (maybe they are actually hills, but to me they were mountains) and then it started to rain too, and not just a little pouring. no, i could hardly see anything. The car kept slipping, and i had NO idea how to climb a mountain, it was pretty terrifying at that moment, but now i can laugh about it. Thinking about it, it was pretty silly, me squeezed between two ginormous trucks, talking with a high pitched voice coz of the nerves. Especially when the huge truck behind me started to honk his horn and flash his lights. We took the first exit we could find and checked the car, i was afraid i had a flat tire, or anything else that ... read more
