Survived?
A whale shark could Gum you to death at best as they are plankton eaters... It could however have given me a nasty bump as it was 8 meters long and very friendly.

It is amazing you live through the dive. I'd have not bothered to stay long ending up as the shark's meal.

I know...
I saw ot all ready. The company teaches and condones the behaivoir unless you get caught of course...then they hang you out to dry! I only hope CNN digs further and does some more investigating...

I think I have done something wrong - it is not so easy with all these electronic things!!! Just to correct: I want to be grandma but my kids are too young (27+29). But here in Padangbai I am Grandma for the 3-years-old son of a friend and for the young people I am Mama. It is nice. So thanks for the flowers Stephen and Sindy! Diving around Padangbai is really nice. The mentioned Dive Guide TANKAS (correct spelling) is really excellent. My husband and me are going with him all the time. If you are coming to Bali visit this little village in the east (ferries to Lombok are leaving here). The locals are friendly and nice. They have a close connection to their culture and religion, you will find ceremonies here and feel a spirit. Love Hella (not grandma but mama)

If somebody is coming to Padangbai, the correct spelling of the dive guide is TANKAS. He is really an excellent guide! My husband and me are always going diving with him.

So how are you making all these posts? I assume your not carrying around a laptop are you just using internet cafes? Very cool, sorry to hear about the lack of garbage control that is one of those easy ones to get right.

The store is going great Jojo and our dogs are usually there meeting and greeting other Pet lovers. It has been open almost 2 months now and is just starting to cover all of its own costs. Thats better than we could have hoped for. http://www.growlies.ca is the URL if you want to see the logo. This page is just the start I will get something better up soon. Keep posting comments and pics on your trip. We spent all our trip money on the store. :)

Barry, I wish we had got this earlier. We just left Debbie's about two minutes ago.....and we are leaving tomorrow morning early for Lipe island. However we will return and did meet many good people. If your back this way we suggest going for awesome Thai food go to Cenang Resthouse and ask for Michael (server/hustler/niceguy) he will know Steve and Sindy from Canada. He is a good man but wanted to come home in our suitcase. Stay in touch we thank you again for turning us onto this place, our anniversary was great! Steve and Sindy

Hi Guys. Looks like you're having great time on my Island eh? If you are still up there and happen to go to these places say hello to a few friends of ours from myself and my Wife Syakiella. Beach Garden resort - Wolfgang(Germ) Irish Pub - Debbie (MY), Oasis beach side pub - Jackie(MY) and any of the staff, Offshore pub - Peter (UK), you should try and stop by Tammy's place (laternite pub) she is from Calgary, just down and around the corner from aseania beside a short strip of restaurants... Other places to go....for a beer of course...the Raggae bar (good band), Aseania resort just down and across fm Aquariam...go in back to the pool bar..have a beer or two and jump in..they also have a water slide. Nice meeting you in KL and hope you enjoy your trip on Langkawi.... Barry (Canadian xpat...la)

It sounds like we were in the same places at the same time! We did both! Liked little India but we found Santosa way too touristy.....think you prob did to. Nice beach there but stupid prices. I found Singapore lacked a little for culture but the food was great. You have to get to Malaysia if you get the chance, the people and beaches and culture here are fantastic. We are off to Vietnam (Hanoi/Ha long) first then work our way down to Ho chi mihn and phucok island. Do you have anything to recommend?
